Although overpriced, Rio made hella nice cd players back when they were very popular, but I’m not a fan at all of their MP3 players. The shape is rather awkward, and they just don’t compare to other brands I’ve tried.

Does any one know if this thing will play low bit rate files?? I LOVE Old Time Radio programs, which have bit rates of 32 or lower, but not all players can play these files.

Just bought a few 512 MB Sandisks from Best Buy this morning for the same price as here. And they’re brand new. Go to Best Buy, they have a ton of them.

did anyone ever wonder how they got a truckload of REFURBISHED items? maybe it goes without saying, but do ya think just maybe REFURBISHED items were rubbish to begin with and that they patched them up to be sold as rubbish a second time around? This is why i love America, people will buy anything. My friend picked up on a similiar deal with the RIO a few months back…it died right after the warranty ended…imagine that. These company’s slap a bandaid on the problem instead of performing the surgery needed. NO OFFENSE TO WOOT I LOVE YOU GUYS! but come on with the refurb crap.

I made the mistake of buying this the last time it was peddled on Woot. It’s a royal pain in the ass to use, but luckily it stopped working after three uses. Save your money for an ipod, instead.
Actually, no. They have 512 MB ones at Best Buy for the same price as this. I was one of those idiots waiting in line at 5 this morning for a new laptop.
Hehe, I got one for my mom. She’d never scoff at 256MB and now I won’t have to go fight any crowds at Best Buy. Yay. 
Oh wonderful! 256 megs! Now I can finally listen to 10 second clips of all my favorite songs, anywhere, anytime!
I have a rio kinda like this one and a motorola. The rio FM tuner works WAY better.

I wooted one of the 128 mg models, put a 1 gig card in it and never looked back. Thing works great, even sitting in a 160 degree sauna.
Now if they’d offer the 512 Rio Forge for a good price, I’d be in. Just do it soon after payday…
