w00t??? Are you Deleting Posts!!maybe…
Had to buy one, friend has one and loves it.
LMAO! Sure, it’s got a better gui, but I’ll take the Izon I got here a while back with the two 512mb sd cards for $50 (Izon and sd cards) and consider myself better off. Not for me.
Rio unreliable and dosen’t stand behind pitiful warantee. Don’t do it.
First, I google. Second, I awe at the respondants that say I’m in the minority for thinking they are wasting their money. Third, I have another St Pauli Girl from my cash saved…
I was hoping for an MP3 player to buy my wife for Christmas… but definately NOT THIS ONE. Although no personal experience, I’ve read some bad reviews on this one. 256MB? LOL, That wouldn’t even fit 1/16 of my CDs.
How about a ZEN micro 5GB?? ![]()
Kind of a let down…this was on here no less than 2 months ago…and price is only so-so.
Toss in a good 1gb soon and THEN we’ll be talking!

bad woot shame shame shame
I have the Rio Cali and a couple of Creative Labs MP3 players.
I prefer the Creative UI and player simplicity. However to get a flash player with SD/MM expansion from Creative is more expensive than the Rio products. I wouldn’t suggest you buy these MP3/FM players for their FM reception.
On the Creative players you can load the tracks and listen to all tracks, random tracks, playlists, folders. These Rio players allow playback of all files, individual files, playlists. However, unlike the Creative players, you must create any playlist on a computer and transfer it to the player. That may or may not be a serious drawback for other users.
I don’t think the UI is unworkable or very much more difficult to use, just a bit different than some more intuitive players. After you use it a couple of times it should become quite familiar.

I would be all over this if not for the fact i’m buying a 1GB player tomorrow for $49.99. G’nite.
Might be a soso deal, but great value and it blows my mind how they can sell these at this price and still feed the employees… assuming they eat.
NONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONONO
HOW COULD YOU WOOT!?!?!?!? Put that Cali up then this sexy beast? HOW !?!?!?!
Okay for those of you wanting to know if Rio is good ( i mean >.> <.< AWESOME!) then yes I bought a Rio Cali from here a few weeks back, and HECK YEAH that thing if by far and large totally sweet. I actually like the playlist feature, i know some ppl don’t but i love it. the only draw back is you can’t (least i haven’t been able too) pull music off of it, other than that, man i put this thing through hell since i’ve had, -10 degree (freezer walk-in) , i’ve dropped it, and you get the idea… IT IS VERY GOOD, i use it constantly, so it seems to have a high battery drain, BUT I use rechargables so it’s all good. It can go pretty dang loud, and it’s very small, but very durable. Okay that’s all the real raving i have at 2 30 AM
l8s!
sorry but this is not a good deal.
First - Refurb? Come on!
Second - 256MB??? What year is this? 1995?
Third - $40 bucks? Um… The 512 iPod Shuffle can be got off of ebay for around $50-60 and that’s just as good as any regurb in my book.
Still loving my Nano. No thanks.
If you buy this Rio you will have a bag o’ crap. I wooted the 128mb version and it arrived with the FM tuner inop. Luckily it was replaced.
