Do these have a cord? /s
Anyone know if anything refurbished on woot is good? Is it worth the money??
I have bought many, many, many refurbished items from Woot. Every now and then I have gotten a dud, but Woot has either refunded my money or sent me a replacement (they will check with the vendor if they have more stock, if you would like)
I bought refurbished Shark Stick vacuum from Woot about 2 years ago. It definitely showed signs of use- but it blew my Dyson out of the water and it’s still doing the job.
I’ve gotten 2 refurbed sharks, looked brand new…
I bought a refurbished NV352 from Woot
2 1/2 yrs ago. Looked close enough to new that I couldn’t tell the difference. Still works perfectly and is the best vacuum I’ve ever had!
I got mine last week, and it looked brand new.! Work perfectly fine.!
The Sharks that I have gotten have always come with brand new accessories and looked brand new, so much so I have purchased them for other people
Does anyone have any suggestions/comments of one vs the other?
I purchases a refurbished UV480 from Woot back in July. It is my second Shark stick vac - my original one is in my travel trailer and the second one I used to replace my large upright Shark vac in the house. While the UV480 I bought did look like it was used, it was immaculately clean and worked 100%. The included accessories were brand-new. These stick vacs are lightweight and easy to move around, plus they have great suction. I use my latest one in the house because the standard upright I used to have was bulky and heavy - which is an issue as I get older. I also prefer a cord and do not go for cordless vacs as the batteries are short-lived and expensive. I may have to empty the collection cannister more frequently, but that is a trade-off I can live with for a lighter vacuum.
There are only two things that I don’t like about this style of Shark stick vacs:
- They do not stand upright on their own, which is a minor inconvenience. When you empty the cannister or leave it, you must lay it down; and…
- These vacs rely heavily on the filters to separate the dirt from the air stream. While the filters are easily replaceable and cleanable, a new filter will be filthy after only one or two uses. You can hate on Dyson’s all you want, but the one thing they got right was the ability to separate the dirt from the air with their cyclone technology without having to rely much on the filter.
Now obviously I didn’t think either of my concerns were a complete deal-breaker but they are worth mentioning because everybody is different.
I am very pleased with my Shark stick vacs, and this price is very hard to beat!
Both models show in the pictures to be corded.
On the Upright model, does anyone know if you can remove the canister and attach the wand directly to the floor nozzle?
Yes, thank you
Once in awhile, Woot sells factory or authorized-refurbisher refurbished items.
These are yet more items from the pseudonymous “Refurbished Product Center” (they have a real name but are apparently embarrassed to attach it to items they refurbish for Woot).
These aren’t even actually refurbished in any way, just allegedly tested, then repackaged.
They could get to you DOA and you’re on the hook for the cost of sending them in… and by the time you get something back, working or not, half the “warranty” period is gone.
That is not true, Woot gives you a shipping label within the 1st 30 days to send it back with free shipping via UPS
The listing doesn’t say that, and I’ve never gotten such an option with a Woot purchase.
Generally, when I’ve bought something that is blatantly different than described and call them on it, they just refund outright and don’t even want it back. (This can take multiple contact attempts.)
Re 1. They actually do stand up on their own, just not fully assembled. If you detach the wand, and look at the far end, there’s thick flat plastic tab. look at the underside of the canister, there is a corresponding slot. See 1:20 in the review below.
If you are getting your money back without sending it in, why are you saying you have to pay shipping?
I’m saying that if it’s defective, you’re on the hook for shipping for the warranty.
I wouldn’t assume that Woot would just fully refund you for an item like this and not want it back unless they know it’s unsellable junk. It’s not like when they send you expired food products.
