Astronomer and NASA Educator here:
Product claims it’s “NASA Approved” - that is a lie. NASA does NOT approve such products!
The fact that such a false claim is made makes me leery that they are safe.
PS: I’m watching the eclipse at the Neil Armstrong Museum in Ohio; say hi if you’re there too!
This is going to be my third total eclipse… just hope it’s not cloudy in Montreal…
and hope my glasses really are trustworthy…
There was a news segment on “Inside Edition” about a guy selling these NASA approved glasses on the streets of NYC. The reporter contacted NASA and their reply was that don’t approve or certify glasses. So, you’ll be taking a chance if these are not ISO and won’t filter out the damaging light that will burn your retina and go blind!
Hi there,
I’ve reached out to customer support regarding the CE and ISO certification details for the “Biniki BC0755240397 Eclipse Glasses NASA Approved” that I’ve purchased. While I await their response, I thought I might check here as well—do any of the moderators or community members have information on where I could verify the certification for these eclipse glasses?
Thanks in advance for any help!
