What a nice Woot tonight, thanks Woot.
I got a 60g PS3 for my 18 yr old son the other day. I know nothing about gaming. He mainly likes anime stuff. I want to get him one game for it for Christmas (he can buy his own later) what is a good game to get? He has a PS2 and PS1 will any of those games work???
I think part of the reason WOOT only ships to the 48 contiguous states is due to the shipping cost (flat $5, and the actual cost is likely much higher for the bigger/heavier items), which would be substantially more for them to ship to Canada; also, I’m not familiar with customs but I’m sure there are hassles involved there. Besides, WOOTs items usually sell out anyway, and that’s when they’re only available to less than the entire US. I’m all for it, man, but it just has to be profitable enough for WOOT!

Neither model comes with an HDMI cable.
Basically, the Wii has better games (the PS3 launch titles are pretty weak, considering the console’s potential), and an innovative control scheme. Plus, it’s half the cost or less than a PS3.
Then what am I thinking about? The XBox 360 models? Ah, I know now: BOTH PS3 models come with composite video cables only, which is the source of many complaints (and as mentioned earlier, the XBox 360 models each have different cables). I’m not sure where all the misunderstanding about the PS3 HDMI capabilities comes from, now.

Reminds me of a time when I was waiting for an LCD monitor in a woot off, and I had to go to work. Then I came home, and missed it. Always putting what I want to woot on up when I am gone. If only I had some kind of gadget to automatically purchase what I want when I cant be on here… Guess I’ll have to get a wife soon.

I just ordered a ton of games wholesale and tax free for Saturday Red delivery from a distributor…There aren’t many games currently shipping, but there are some good ones coming in February & March. F.E.A.R. looks really good.
I was wondering about that when I saw that everyone only bought 1; I didn’t know if this item was limited to one or nobody had time to grab more than that because they knew the item would see out quickly.
All these complaints! Come on people! IT’s uncalled for! You know what time a new woot comes up. If a man in pain who needs spine surgery (WHich is scheaduled in January) can get up and check at midnight the new woot and be there with the button live to buy, then anyone can. Its not woots fault you missed it. IT’S your OWN! Take blame for your own action for once instead of SOMEONE ELSE!
Yeah, that happens to me every time; during a WOOT-off, I wait for an item that I think will last a while, then I go to take a shower or travel to or from work and when I finally get back to WOOT they’ve gone through 2 or 3 more items.
The one advantage PS3 has over Wii: It runs Linux.

Not a very good question; you’ll do the same thing you do when WOOT posts an item that you don’t want. You see it at midnight (or WOOT-time wherever you live), decide you’re not interested, and wait another 24 hours. It doesn’t matter that in this case the item’s sold out; you just wait for the next one.

Yeah, that’s the point I was making; the launch titles are unimpressive, but EVENTUALLY they’ll have some good ones. As a result, you might as well wait until that time to buy the console; it may be cheaper, or at least easier to find, and more likely they will have worked out some of the bugs in the hardware (launch consoles and handhelds ALWAYS have problems, at least in recent generations.)
If you can’t make or take jokes, whats the point of life eh? lol, but I could use a transplant! Doc says damn thing is 10 years older than me. I was a bit confused as to how but oh well. They will fix the part that is bulging in the lower part that is making my leg jello and i’ll be back to carrying extremely heavy things I shouldn’t all over again!
I was just checking on eBay, and gave up trying to find the highest REAL winning bid; a lot of the auctions went for astronomical prices to new eBay members. A few of them won multiple PS3 auctions and received negative feedback for not paying for any of them.
