It’s all said and good about the post’s but… What the hell is this??? Something to hook my tv up to the hotspot or WiFi for my tv and ps4???
what’s it do? ok, for example, my current tv is a “dumb” tv. It just has cable channels or whatever I can get via antenna. Newer tv’s are “smart tv’s”. I don’t think so but that’s the name they give them. They have a built in OS that allows users to connect to teh interwebs and watch amazon prime, hulu, netflix, whatever. This device appears to updgrade dumb tv’s to smart tv’s- and probably much more.
I just added a cheap ssd to an old work pc from the recycle bin (they let us raid it), loaded ubuntu, loaded a media viewing app (much like the product has), and then watch whatever is available. Most of everything is available. So $200-300, or free? I went with free. I can also watch anything from a browser w/ no lag or memory issues. I don’t actually use it much though.
