Thanks for the warning about Averatec, which I have. Luckily I found an Averatec on ebay or I would have bought this one. To the one --asmscale-- with the great charger and no way to plug it in. One can rewire a new plug on it. (Hint it melted when I did it myself. Then it broke.) Then I found a guy who does audio repairs and he soldered it right.
This looks like such a good deal, I’ll be buying a notebook that can use it!

Sooooo its not compatible with my personal laptop, work laptop, my brother’s laptop, or my girlfriends laptop, all of which are either Compaq or Dell. It doesn’t seem so “universal” now, at least not for anything made in the past 2 years. Piece 'o crap.
yeah i have discovered it will not work with my toshibs either – i may do the soldering the old connector to the new supply trick – got nothing to loose now

they are very cheap in quality. I work with laptops all day. Anytime a laptop comes in with one of these, it’s almost as if they are blacklisted.
got one of these as a boc and it still works like new. I use it on my gateway instead of my OEM cause its easier to transport.
may have already lost it ---- like i said something shorted out in mine and it blew who knows what damage is already done
