Nice for smaller households. The smaller container will tighten up the vortex for a better blend.

I personally wouldn’t stick ANY sized household in a blender.

This is a new machine but it only has a 90 day warranty from Woot. So I will not get the 5 year warranty from Vitamix. Is that correct?

For the last 18 months that I’ve been watching Vitamix offers on Woot, have never seen anyone say they were not granted the full warranty when registering with Vitamix. Just ask nicely.

Is this a good deal, compared to the previous round on v1200/3300?

Thanks for your explanation. I bought the vitamix pro 750 blender for $399 at Target yesterday. But today Woot gave me a good deal. I just really don’t know about the Vitamix warranty at Woot

In case this helps anyone, the Propel Series 510 is identical to the Explorian E520 sold at Costco (which is currently $300 on sale there).

  • (Same) 10 Variable Speeds + Pulse Feature
  • (Same) Three Program Settings (Smoothies, Hot Soups and Frozen Desserts)
  • (Costco only) Includes 2- 22oz Tumblers with Stainless Steel Straws
  • (Costco only) 64oz Low Profile Container
  • (Woot only) 48oz Low Profile Container
  • (Costco only) 7-year warranty
  • (Woot only) 5-year warranty

The motor is the same. The warranty, extra accessories and container size are different. The Propel series is the latest series, but it is considered entry-level quality. That doesn’t mean it’s bad, it just means that there are certain things you won’t get compared to higher-end models.

Higher-end Vitamix models will give you quieter motors, better build quality, and more presets. Not everyone cares for those things, especially for the added price point.

Strictly my opinion, but for those not looking for bells and whistles, this Woot sale is fantastic value. However, if you’ve never experienced how loud a non-Ascent model Vitamix can get, just be prepared. The E520 sold at Costco is considered VERY loud, and this is the exact same motor and housing. Noise may not matter for smoothies, but absolutely does make a difference if you ever want to get into 5-minute soups on a preset.

The 5200 series is the next higher-end in the offerings, and the Ascent series is the most expensive (many bells and whistles). Also note that only the Ascent series gives you access to newer containers.

Nothing in the listing suggests this is new. With a 90 day warranty I assume this is a refurshed unit.

Good morning ,

  1. It was new.
  2. It’s sold out.
  3. Woot cannot guarantee the OEM will honor their warranty so Woot offers a 90 day warranty.
  4. I’m not employed by Woot, but I volunteer to help in the forums.

Sold out now, but our experience with the similar Costco model that we paid almost twice the money for -

We had been buying cheaper blenders for many years - $75 and under blenders. Grew tired of them dying prematurely. So finally spent more money on that Vitamix 520.

What surprised us - it “blends” so much better. And while it isn’t quiet, the “quality” of the noise it makes is more refined and confidence-inspiring.

But don’t break that pitcher, dull the blades, or think buying the larger pitcher on the Costco model will be an easy lift. Vitamix stopped selling blade kits to retail customers so you gotta buy the entire pitcher/blade assembly. And the assembly price is heavily marked up by Vitamix. The pitcher/blades are durable so hopefully you won’t face this challenge.

When you go to Vitamix.com, there is a sign up for their newsletter & a $25 coupon they will send you for your 1st purchase through Vita. Then wait for the sale announcement (about 4 per year). With the sale prices +coupn+free S/H you can get some pitcher/blade assemblies for <$100 and the steel one for $130 ish. (Amazon’s best $$ was $149 at the same time I bought)

When caring for your pitcher, remember to hand wash & DRY it. Yes, they can go into a dishwasher, but the container will become cloudy. If you hand wash or just use the Vita wash cycle, remember to hand DRYthe container or you may get permanent watermarks. It won’t affect the performance, just the look.

Thanks for your post. Really helpful. I thought the 510 was the Propel version of the 5200, not the Explorian. Agree that any Vita can do the job, but some have presets & some are noisier.

One of my favorite reviews on Vitamix was the family that bought a smaller freestanding kitchen cabinet, drilled a spot for the cord in the back and lined it with sound insulation for their Vitamix. Love it!

I contacted Woot. They said Woot are 3rd party company from Vitamix, Amazon. That means Woot are not an authorized retailer… They are not sure if it will be covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. So they also offer Woot’s 90-day warranty.

I called Vitamix customer service. They told me that Woot is not an authorized reseller. So they will not honor the warranty since you purchased it from Woot. I tried to tell them Woot is the company belongs to Amazon. But they don’t seem to care because they say it’s not on their authorized reseller list. Even if you register a warranty with them, they still won’t honor it.

IDK if Vitamix has changed their policy or you had a cranky CS rep, but this is the 1st case I’ve ever read here.
The chances of a Vitamix going South is really remote, but I get the assurance of a warranty is valuable.

You can purchase an asurion 3 or 4 year extended warranty from Amazon for under $35. I purchased one to cover up to the purchase price. If it breaks I’ll get my money back if they won’t fix it. Even after buying the warranty it was still a good deal.

I will email Vitamix again. I bought it whether it was under warranty from Vitamix or not. Vitamix is actually very good and durable. I have never had any problems with the blender when working at a restaurant. This is a good deal for a quality blender.
