Vortex Optics Crossfire II Riflescope

Vortex Optics Crossfire II Riflescope

Why can’t this item be shipped to CA?!? Makes no sense. Please shed some light. Thanks

Most likely because it’s on a list of shipping restrictions which Woot has.

(Please note: I don’t work for Woot, I just volunteer to help out here on the forums.)

Ok, but that doesn’t answer why I am not able to purchase this via Woot. Why does Woot have restrictions that others don’t like parent Amazon?

Different systems. Hard to update everything correctly. Best to be on the safe side rather than ship something you shouldn’t.

Hi there. We get a list of things we can’t ship to various places. Some don’t make sense. I’ve tried pushing back on some but no luck. Sorry.

Since it’s now up at the top…

The title says: Vortex Optics Crossfire II 6-18x44

The description says: The 4-12x40 Adjustable Objective Crossfire II riflescope is one of many configurations in the Crossfire II line.

The specs tab says: Magnification Maximum 12 x Objective Lens Diameter 40 Millimeters Magnification Minimum 4 x

Apparently it’s a vendor controlled issue. Same restriction on Amazon. Here’s a screenshot from Amazon

So which scope are you actually getting? Vortex Optics Crossfire II 6-18x44 AO SFP Riflescope Dead-Hold BDC MOA or 4-12x40 Adjustable Objective Crossfire II riflescope

California has restrictions on sniper, laser and thermal scopes… this one must be considered a sniper scope.

This seems to be the same item (same 1881 ratings, same dead-hold BDC what ever that is) and does not state there to be shipping restrictions for any state. To cross check, I also entered “California” in the Customer questions & answers section and there were no entries.

If you check on that other store that begines with “W” whose name must not be spoken and input some zipcode in that state, they seem to ship to a local store in that zipcode.

So it is not a vendor issue and not an issue on Amazon and not an issue on that "W "place.

I think a mistake was made.

It says “dead hold.” The other is apparently listed in error only in the one spot.

@Ferndogg55 - is asking which scope based on magnification range and objective size since time and body are contradictory and Specification page lists both sets of specs.
6-18x44 is not the same as 4-12x40 (probably the latter one is what is being sold)

6-18 power magnification or 4-12 power?
44mm objective diameter or 40mm objective diameter?

Both are Dead-Hold and Adjustable Objective. I hope this narrows down the issues.

Are ads on Woot done by people in the USA? Or is it outsourced? Is there much proof reading? We are trying to help Woot sell but these are basic ad editing things that need to be done with greater care.

I suggest you reread the question and the sales page again. Have a nice day.

I did. I answered with optics precision. There are two occasions of conflicting specification errors in the ad pages as clearly detailed.

Hi there. Title was correct. Features have Been updated.

Good price then. If we can detect an error by reading for inconsistencies and you need to intervene so often, maybe some quality assurance process improvement is due?

  • You should get a raise and maybe some of us a token discount credit for efforts.
  • Highlighting that this has better optics and a significantly larger objective lens diameter should help sales. Why? The exit pupil at 44/6 = 7.3mm minimum is impressive for light gathering at dawn or dusk. Our pupils are typically less than 5mm diameter.

This is a great scope. I have 2 that I use regularly. One on an AR-15 in .450 bushmaster and one on an AR-10 in .308. Both are sturdy and have clear sights. Also remember that vortex offers a lifetime warranty for all of their scopes.
