I’m waiting to hear about someone writing this off as a business expense… anyone an accountant? What’s the likelihood of being able to write this off?
For example an influencer who buys this to unbox live and calls the purchase a business expense?

Yeah, an influencer/content creator absolutely could. Or someone who takes it and uses it as a giveaway through their own business.

Quick follow up: did that work? Because it seems like the only genius strategy was for woot to manage to say “this is worth $2000” and get people to basically pay that, sometimes more.

I am just going to assume that the people who paid more than $3,000 are also among those who gave $1.99 for cans of Fancy Feast cat food that are 88 cents at Walmart. 
I had actually originally thought that those were just fellow cat owners who maybe wasted a buck to take advantage of a cheap way of buying something, anything from Woot!
But, to knowingly waste a grand is on a whole different level.
