We volunteer mods can only do so much. We don’t have the ability to look at your account (order history, cancelations, etc.), so the best we can do is offer advice based on our own experience.
If you could, please look at your order history to see if something you ordered is missing. I don’t know what else to tell you.
(Please note: I don’t work for Woot, I just volunteer to help out here on the forums.)
If yes, then go to your Account and look under Stuff You Bought. If there is an order there that shows as being Canceled, case solved. Woot didn’t have enough stock to fullfill the number of order placed. This happens on specialty items like BoCs, $1 items and Mystery items.
If no, or there is nothing marked as being Canceled under your Account, then it’s a phishing scam. Ignore it. Happens all the time and they bank on someone falling for it.
Did you participate in Midnight Mobile Madness or OMG and not get the item? If so, it’s likely that you were soooo close that the payment was taken but the item could not be reserved. Rather than keep your money, we reverse the transaction. I’m guessing your paying through Amazon so Woot sent the message to Amazon to reverse the charge. You got an email saying the payment had been canceled.
Update - both @Wooter772326458 and @RebelTaz were correct. This was a phishing email. Amazon cs reported back the amazon payment id in the email was not found n their system. Called my bank, Chase, they confirmed the same. I forwarded the email to Chase fraud department this morning.
Woot cs and amazon cs and fraud department also have a copy of this email if woot want to further investigate. Note, I didnt here back from woot cs today, only amazon
FYI, I’m told by someone smarter than me that there is an order number in the email. It’s listed as the Payment Number. If you find that, PM it to me or ask CS.
Update - 30 min after sending 2 chase phishing, i got another similar email, this one 4 $4ish . Sent 2 chase also. Also changed my psw on both amazon and woot.
I’ve got about 15 plants in. Had two, yes a lonely 2, cherry tomatoes so far. Still have a few weeks to go before prime-time and then longer before the sauce tomatoes are ready.
