Xact Sirius Satellite Radio Bundle

don’t make me get ugly.

you wouldn’t like me when i’m ugly…

How does it sound?
Im concerned with the subscription cost, but im just too lazy to get a nice mp3 collection setup and organized.
I really want to know how good this unit, and sirius in general sound. i dont want to be stuck with something that is unenjoyable

Sirius blows XM outta the water. Better music programming. The Underground Garage is the best station in the country. It also has an all jamband station, XM does not.

Like I said earlier, you can transfer your lifetime service to a different hardware reciever up to 3 times.

Which allows the user a nice loophole, so that when new satelites are launched with new services (like video) and require newer hardware, you can buy the new hardware, move your subscription and still not pay any monthly fees.

As a side bonus, you can keep your older radio for only $6.95 more.

sound quality should be good.
from reading about it years ago, they have the satelites as well as ground repeaters to strengthen the signal, so you should be clear just about everywhere.
i tried sirius out online and liked it pretty well, but i just don’t listen to music that often.

overall i think you’d be happy with it, and i personally think the puppy logo is the bomb-diggity.

Where’s the MP3 player? It has a CD player that plays mp3 CDs - not the same thing and I can pick one of those up for $15 anywhere. And ooooh a whole 2.5 watts more power per speaker, thats worth paying $50 more. And what does a costco membership cost a year compared to a woot membership? There’s a lot of differences here - and my point is that the Woot deal is a better deal.

Tell you what: get one, I’ll give you a six month subscription. If you don’t want it enough to pay for it at the end of that time, I’ll buy the Woot deal tonite from you for tonite’s price. Can it get any more fair than that? Plus with the free internet password you get with your purchase, you can listen on the internet to Sirius in the house and keep the radio in your car.

LOL- short and so very original.

Woody, have you ever heard of the comedy channels on Sirius? Commercial free and one is FCC rules free, “Raw Dog Comedy”. Pretty nasty sometimes, but when you need a laugh, it’s quite fun. RDB

You can buy the home dock kit and plug it into your DCP501 reciever that we all bought last week… hee hee… use CD IN and you can rock and roll, or buy some other speaker system… it has a headphone jack. I have a sirius in my jeep, the first one still. I use a tape player to get the music on and it sounds fine… great actually the FM thing blows… never got it work right… my boat has the same docking station… i just pull the reciever out of the jeep and into the boat… it has a pluggin the deck on my boat… AUX 1 (headphone jack on the siruis to the head unit)

The boombox this is coming with will probably be like a good toy for the garage or something… cant think it’s anything special…

my woot cents for what its woot for

That puppy logo comes from Sirius, the “dog” star. It resides in the Canis Major system and is considered the brightest star in the sky. But yeah, the “do” rag on the dog really makes it. LOL.

Does this go for everyone?

Howard Stern going to Sirius was enough for me to jump on this deal. I was ready to spend 500 to buy and have it installed at the dealership.

Wooton!

[QUOTE=mac daddy1]

i don’t see the do-rag, but didn’t the tail used to be an antenna with little radio signal rings around it?

GC - I too LOVE the puppy logo, I even wrote to Sirius and asked if they had the doggie for sale as a promo. I’m thinking about making one in a very soft white leather. If I do, I’ll send you one. - k - ??? RDB

super super super tempted…i’ve been looking for an excuse to get sirius…

Unfortunately, no. Woody has such a generous heart, I thought I’d return the favor. Wish I could. Well, maybe if there aren’t TOO many, and I win the lotto this weekend, and there are no more earthquakes, …

The sound quality is excellent, better then fm. Close to cd quality. Also since the signal is digital, it’s buffered for a few seconds, nice if you drive under a bridge or something. You either have a signal or you don’t, no static, if you lose the signal it’ll sound more like a streaming audio or video file on the internet during net congestion. Large cities have ground repeaters so that you’ll get a signal next to tall buildings.

Also XM has 2 satelites and Sirius has 3.
I drove from chicago to ny in a car with xm and I lost the signal a lot when by large hills or cliffs.

I’ve driven everywhere with my sirius, chicago to miami and never had the problems I did with xm.

Dude, “do” rag is for your head, little Sirius pup has a scarf around his neck and a star for an eye. Get it right. LOL RDB

Maybe that was just a scarf. Must be the less-dixia kicking in. I might have seen that tail version once-it, … can’t remember past lunch.
