Ummmm…”hygienically”…I am going to guess that is not a new word…right?
Are these CHG compatible?
Asking for a cancer patient…
$24.99 for 150 wipes, vs. about $5 for 168 wipes at Wally World.
Thanks for that!
We forgot to check Sam’s and Costco.
They also have flushables.
The nurses again reminded us to make sure it is CHG compatible, so our friends can use these when they are discharged.
Do your research on so-called flushables. Flushed two so-called wipes and then paid a plumber to come clear out the pipes. Fine to use but don’t flush.
Gosh, that sounds expensive.
We have only flushed one at a time with the Cottonelle brand, and so far () we haven’t had any problems.
But we will definitely keep that in mind.
Thanks @ThunderThighs for tip!
These were Cottonelle too. Flushed different days. Older homes have brass sewage pipes. Over time, these develop burrs and the cloths catch on them. They don’t disintegrate like toilet paper does.
Holy crap! We had no idea. So even a single flushable wipe is dangerous to the pipes! Thanks for the information. We will think twice about the convenient flushable wipes.
We are going back to getting a bidet installed for one of the veterans. It is probable a safer and healthier option overall. Back to researching bidets!
A couple of the medical staff watched the video with us, and they were astounded. Some of the female staffers told us they always carry flushable wipes when it is that time of the month.
That was an eye-opener!
Ask any plumber. They will tell you NEVER flush a “flushable” wipe. Throw them in the trash.
Spoke with a guy that works for the city, tells me that they pay hundreds of thousands of dollars a year replacing pumps and pipes from people that flush “flushable” wipes…
Talk about flushing your tax dollars down the drain!
Why aren’t we informed better about this issue?
i don’t know how anyone gets informed about anything local these days. No one has the paper, and family members that do are not visited daily by those that don’t.
At least that is how it no longer works in my family.
Have you seen these
I highly recommend them. They are larger than regular wipes and can be used to wash your body too.
Yes! They work really well. One time we got a batch where the fragrance was overwhelming to the cancer patients. So we had to put the brakes on that box. A nurse practitioner managed to get some Medline-brand wipes until we could managed to get another box that was just right.
We handed out the more fragrant wipes to some homeless veterans who hang out in the VA Emergency Department waiting room. They seemed really happy to get them.
So it all worked out in the end.
But those wipes are a godsend!
Lol, just Google “fatberg.”
One of the images showed a rather large yellow ball…???
Anyway, still…
Omg I know - I used to be really sensitive to smells and had to be super careful about everything, especially laundry detergent
