Adaptec GameBridge TV USB2 Video Capture/TV Tuner

I definitely w00ted. w00t for w00ting when you need w00tage for your PS2 to connect to your computer.

Can’t wait to make Ace Combat videos with it!

Note: It’s because the price is not available anywhere after the wootoff is over and it’s nice to know the price at which old woot items sold for.

I know it lists how high the resolution can go, but does anybody know if this thing will allow the few PS2 games that support it to display in 16:9? If so, this would be great for playing Shadow of the Colossus, it would seem. Thanks for the info in advance, Wooters!

I read this somewhere…
Play Games in Real Time
With GameBridge there is no lag time. Click the controller and the fast response gets you out of the tightest spots with the enhanced graphical resolution of your computer monitor.

what is exaclty bad about the tv tuner

PriceGrabber has a $5 review rebate. Would make this thing only $20. Doesn’t seem like a bad deal to me at all for $20.

your pc, your software, your hardware, your laptop, and everything that you could possibly plug into it will be obsolete in a few years… not a real legit reason NOT to buy it, or any computer related equipment for that matter

My techie husband is sound asleep so I can’t ask him. Would this item let me move shows that I’ve recorded on my DVR onto my computer (or burn them onto a DVD)? What if those shows are in HD?

First woot! for me

This is a pretty good deal, and I have a bunch of old Hi8 videos that I need to convert. Adaptecs got good brand reputation.

No HD support for this, so you’de basically be losing quality and downscaling from HD (either 720p or 1080i) to 480p. Not a huge loss, but still going to be a reduction in quality from that alone.

I’ve been wanting to get one of these, and I have money to spend, so I hope it turns out to be a great first Woot.

WOOT!

Yay my first woot!

Hey seriously f*** macs… if this was exclusively for macs it would prob be sold out by now from you mac wooters…

I would like to know if there is Windows XP x64 support for this b/c I would def buy this if there was…
Are there additional drivers for this to allow x64 users to use this product?

can anyone tell me if it is easy to make montoges with this or if i also need other programs??

wtf?

do you mean “montages?”

if so you will need a video editing program as well. this device produces mpeg (1 or 2) video and you will need a program that either edits or converts that video. Avid might still have their free Xpress system for download at avid.com - not sure if it converts mpeg2 video but hey, it’s free. there are also many more out there.

Don’t think I can find a need for this, but I bought two anyway. Some of you whiners might come to your senses after the sale and might want one.

i answered my own question. it’s here

hey buddy,
I hope this would help you out. I’m nowhere near being an expert, but i could think of a couple things that would get the audio working.

  1. buy a adapter/cable like this: 3.55mm Stereo plug/2 RCA Jack cable
then plug the 3.5mm jack into the line in plug in your computer (sound card). Then open your volume control in your computer, and turn up the line in sound… it might also work if you plug it into a mic input if you don’t have line in, although i’m not too sure about this part.
  2. you can get that same cable, then try to plug it into your speaker directly with another coupler.
I hope this answers your question.
