Are these the surge suppressors that are wired incorrectly and are dangerous?
I have two…no problems yet…1 year
Is this the one that wasn’t UL listed and people found all kinds of internal wiring faults?
They have radically redesigned the unit after all the mis wired ones that were sold. reporting it to Auduro, the UL, the CE cert , ect went absolutely no where.
here is one of many many threads on the subject every time the prior model popped up on Woot forums…
Here is the “old” design with the issue , and it was mis-wired!
VS the “new” design , to which , they have never admitted there was an issue…
but is is obvious why the wiring path could be messed up because of the angles and how hard it would be to make them correct. Bad engineering on the old ones! I have 5 or so of these, hoping that they recall them so I can get a refund, as it is past Woot return policy.
Hope that helps
Is this the same on on Amazon for 15.99?

Not quite.
Different brands, layouts, and yours has 3 USB ports.
(Please note: I don’t work for Woot, I just volunteer to help out here on the forums.)
“Surge protection”
Okay I’ll bite. What’s the Joule rating, and why isn’t it listed prominently?
-
the bad ones they listed before: Aduro Surge Wall Charging Tower w/ 12 Outlets & Dual USB Ports – Aduro Products
-
this one: Aduro Surge Wall Tower Charging Station w/ 12 Outlets & Dual USB Ports – Aduro Products
When I contacted them on the “Joules” , they claimed they were 300…
(although the smaller ones , they claim are 490)
I find it hard to believe there is any “protection” to be honest.
It is very sketchy that they do not list that information on their site.
this is the link to contact them:
They were totally useless contacting them on the mis-wired version, also CE and UL were “looking into it”
but nothing ever came of it.
Seems we went down this “rabbit hole” 8 times at woot…

Recieved mine today, it has an open ground and neutral on multiple receptacles and some of the receptacles the hot and neutral are reversed. Would not advise using it before testing it for proper wiring
Finally got around to testing the one I received 04/18/22. Hot and neutral were reversed on all outlets. This was fixable by resoldering wires internally but was dangerous as received.
