Altec Lansing Power Duo Bluetooth Tower Speaker Set

Altec Lansing Power Duo Bluetooth Tower Speaker Set

Just received these. Speakers arrived with a damaged RC cable. I was able to test with the alternate cable and Bluetooth. The audio is loud, but a lot quieter than was expected for something this large. There is a lot of static using Bluetooth and I’ve tried multiple devices. My computer speakers seem to sound just as loud as these (they have a subwoofer of course). I’m not sure what I think about them, but not really impressed. LED lights seem to change when they want and I can’t really control them from the remote.

Edit: Spoke with the manufacturer on the lights. They will always cycle through the colors or fade in and out. They will never be static so take this in mind. You will also be limited by the length of the proprietary cables so you will likely need an extended RCA cable and 3.5 mm cable to move these away from each other.

Hi there. Sorry for the problem with the speakers. Feel free to reach out to Woot! Customer Service.

This isn’t Woot’s fault as they just go with the manufacturer specs but I consider it to be totally misleading when manufacturers just give a single power number as in this case with 240 watts without any per channel info or distortion %. I understand it when it’s just one speaker but there are two. I’d be willing to bet a fresh Woot that the distortion % on these is around 10% compared to typical ratings for good equipment at 1% or, preferably, less.
