Funny how the reviews aren’t for this product. It’s a mix of other antennae, a few mounting poles, and anything but this model.
You’re right. There’s even a review for chopsticks mixed in there!
What, not good after I ordered it?
“Non-Scratched” – An important feature for all HDTV/FM antennas
Best feature of antennas… “Now with less flem!”
Yeah, this 3rd party vendor put almost their entire catalog on one page on Amazon so the reviews are all intermingled. Sigh.

So, does anyone know anything about this antenna? I can’t find any amazon reviews for this specific model. The reviews for other indoor antennae from Antop are mixed (very good or very bad).
This listing appears to have a single legit review: https://www.amazon.com/ANTOP-AT-500SBS-Amplified-HDTV&FM-Antenna/dp/B07NQ46FHR
Sounds like it’s your typical no-name, garbage antenna with questionable range, but this one comes at a premium price.
you get what you pay for…NOTHING
better off using a coat hanger
So can anyone recommend a good 75+ mile (preferably indoor) antenna? I live in northern Virginia outside D.C. and am having trouble finding an antenna that can pull in the major broadcast stations.
You and me both. I’m in Maryland just across the WW bridge. I started with three channels - NBC, FOX and CW but lately I’m down to just two - FOX and CW. I’m taking the leap just because I’ll feel better than doing nothing. Maybe bigger will be better.
In 2018 Consumer Reports said that their top three were:
- Mohu ReLeaf
- Winegard FlatWave FL5500A, and
- Clearstream 2Max
I assume there’s a 2019 review but didn’t readily find it.
Looks like this one is environmentally friendly as well!
Okay, I received it today (Sunday 9am by a USPS truck) and tried it out. Setup was easy. I placed it in the same place as my other antenna, only on the floor instead of on a table.
I had three channels and then went down to two with my old antenna. This one gets my old channel back with awful reception. In addition, I picked up a lot of new channels, all with decent reception (not counting 2-3 with really awful reception). Specifically, my new channel total is 21. It includes, FOX, CW, ABC and NBC. No CBS.
I think that the Power Booster knob is a fraud. I have not seen any difference in reception between the minimum, maximum and in-between values. Eh, it wasn’t essential to me anyway and I never fully understood why you wouldn’t always want it at maximum setting.
So on Day One, I am quite happy that I decided to take the leap and make this purchase.
Wow, just saw your reply. Thanks, that’s what i ended up assuming, but i appreciate your reply!
