I bought my iPad Air 2 (128 gb, wifi only) new back in November 2015 and it is still working perfectly today. This was a great design with a laminated screen that has a very effective anti-reflective coating. It weighs just under a pound and it has proven to be very durable.
Air 2s can install iOS 15, though advanced features won’t be available.
Downsides - WiFi-only models don’t have GPS. The main camera isn’t very good by today’s standards.
