Buyer beware-I ordered two different Apple watches in the last couple of weeks. Specs say these will have at least 85% battery health. One of mine was at 79% and didn’t last until 9PM on a day when I didn’t do much, no health or fitness use, etc. The second one was at 70% Battery health and had a “Service Recommended” warning when I opened the Battery health screen.
Both were packaged in a shady looking “Smart Device” box. If you buy one of these or any refurbished Apple watches (and maybe the Samsung watches I seem to be seeing a lot of too?), make sure you look under Settings/Battery Health after you charge it up.
PS: I’ve already processed returns via My Orders page, just trying to bring it to Woot’s or anyone else who might be interested’s attention. Plus I has a sad.
Refurb/used/open box can be a crap shoot. I have a woot open box , clearly used , Samsung Watch 3. The screen was scratched and the band was not as shown. That being said, a replacement band and screen protector made it perfectly acceptable. Battery charges to 100% and lasts 2-3 days. Imo the 3 is the best Samsung watch to date. Just have to get lucky with the condition I guess.
Hi there. Sorry for the battery issues. CS will help you out.
As to the “shady” boxes though, they’re standard generic boxes that many refurbishing companies use because they fit a variety of devices.
yes I have an old Series 3 that I purchased refurbished at least a couple years ago that still has 89% battery health. However what I’m pointing out is that the specs on the sales listing for both of the new watches said they were guaranteed to be at least 85% and one was 70% and one was 79%. A sample of two doesn’t prove much but I thought I’d warn anyone who purchases these to check them right away, and also maybe get Woot to check with their refurbisher.
I buy almost everything refurbished but I doubt that I am just that unlucky that I got the only two with battery health in the 70% range from whoever Woot is now buying their watches from.
Thanks TT, I appreciate that CS took care of this right away.
