BayouTech Mobile Power Generator

Hmm, poweroak portable seems to use the same cartoon to advertise what looks like the SAME kind of portable power supply. Not finding anything useful on Youtube to see how it performs. Cheaper then Goal Zero but no much of a reputation.

Some additional possibly helpful intel:

This was offered during a wootoff for the same price FWIW… http://tools.woot.com/forums/viewpost.aspx?postid=6950185&ref=tg_cnt_odet_dsc

“BayouTech Mobile Power Generator”

This is a battery, not a generator.

I was thinking the same thing.

This is a re badged Power oak. The big difference between this power bank and the Goal Zero Yeti is the battery. GZ uses lead acid which are heavy and if you store them for any length of time without them being hooked to a charge source the battery dies.

This Unit uses a LiPo battery that is a fraction of the weight of lead acid, have many more recharge cycles and hold a charge for an amazing amount of time. The only thing I don’t like about this unit is the need for 14 volts to recharge. That eliminates using the small folding solar panels to keep a maintenance charge going. You will need the larger panels or an AC plug.
