Best old-school communication device?

@the person who created this particular poll - not sure what planet you are living on, but flip phones are still being used, and a new type is coming into play with the folding phones.
Did you perhaps mean Analog cell service as if there is any left in the U.S., there isn’t much?

Fax machines are still going so strong

Mimeograph.

Communication device?
Well… I suppose if you burn it and make a smoke signal
You forgot paper and pen
Or sign language, or voice
Interpretive dance.

I don’t consider a landline “old school.” Still in heavy use and I have one. Redundancy. I guess that’s the Boy Scout indoctrination.
Me personally, I like the middle finger. Says about all I need to communicate to most people.
Same here, 'cept instead of redundancy [a concept I live by, by the way] it’s all we have, want or need.
Pass a note:

Use a Morse code device:

Use light Morse signals

My absolute favorite morning working fast food was when the District Manager had to reset every store’s fax machine because something stupid happened and he has to reboot them to the point that they’d been the night before.
This is how we all learned that two different store managers were using the fax to send each other naughty messages, drawing, etc.
The best part, they both stayed employed
