Check out Issue - Pay with Amazon Error [RESOLVED]

Oncall checking in…

I’d be curious if y’all opened an incognito/private browsing session if you’d have the same problem.

It would also be helpful if someone who is actively seeing this issue could DM me the email address associated with your Amazon account so I could pass that on to the Amazon team that will be looking into this.

Incognito mode does the same thing… will DM email address.

Keep trying to make a purchase on Woot! with Amazon Pay and get this message, tried logging in and out of Amazon and Woot, tried incognito and a Edge instead of Chrome, tried the app on iPhone, still doesn’t work

I’ve been getting the same error message all morning. Have tried all the following and still get same error:

  • logging out of all accounts and logging back in;
  • attempts on 2 different systems plus mobile;
  • incognito mode; and
  • Chrome and Edge browsers

@ThunderThighs Any updates? Trying order something before it sells out.

Another question based on some testing I just did. Can you log in to Woot and see your username up in the top? Does this issue only show up when you are in the checkout flow?

The error occurs at final order review screen upon pay button click. After clicking the Amazon Pay button, popup window from Amazon shows error message. Everything else on Woots end looks usual.

Same error!

This. There’s no problem logging into Woot using Amazon account. It’s the checkout that is the problem.

Yes it seems there isn’t an API call that prompts the cogs that shows something is working in the background or the funny message that shows while the purchase is being validated through Amazon.

I am surprised this issue is still present 12 hours later after I gave up last night trying to checkout. One would think Woot management cared a bit more than this casual response. If not for the customers, at least for their own revenue losses when blocking people from giving you money?

  • I cleared all amazon and woot cookies and tried different browsers. No effect.
  • There isnt even any alternative method of payment I can find other than amazon pay?

Question: Is this only happening to those who have a teen account in their family? Or to everyone? Should I delete my teen’s account?

We were able to reproduce this on our end and we’re working with the Amazon team that owns the checkout flow. One Woot dev added a fake teen and then deleted it from their household and was able to see it go from working > broken > working.

I’m not saying you should delete whatever teen accounts are in your household, but do they really need to be buying stuff? In this economy?

Hopefully we’ll get a fix soon if you don’t want to delete (or if you are seeing this error without having a teen in your Amazon account).

I do not have a teen account

Hi there. Our response is definitely not casual. There are multiple people working on this from both Woot & Amazon from different angles.

I can confirm that deleting teen accounts fixes the issue and my woot order was successfully placed.

Thank you Woot Staff for all your hard efforts still working to resolve this. Many of us understand how complicated issues like this can be to resolve, esp with multiple internet entities involved. I look forward to placing my next Woot order (with teen accounts active) successfully after this eventually gets ironed out between Woot and Amazon.

Wish I could delete mine, but i exceeded my OTP requests for the day jacking around with this whole thing

Having this problem too. I’ve ran through every trouble shooting thing on my end but no luck. Just hoping what I want doesn’t sell out before it’s fixed sad

The Amazon team has made a change on their end and it seems to be working now! I was able to continue checkout with the account that was erroring. Please let us know whether you are still seeing a problem.
