Chehalem Oregon Pinot Noir (3)

The irony of ironies.

Buy all the wine is our motto, too!

Kyle or Cory…on a 1 to 10 scale of tartness where does this fall? I currently have a very low tolerance for tartness in my wine. But I would like to try this!

Thanks for joining us, Chahalem!

As I said in my review, I don’t drink much OR PN, but this one was right in my wheelhouse. It seemed
a bit richer in style than I stereotype OR PN to be. It’s still very focused and clean and not at all heavy but it isn’t thin or light either.

Is that your house style? Is that this particular vintage/site combo?

Food. With the food, this wine shined. Hard to say. SWMBO pointed it out immediately – 5, maybe? It’s a terroir-based component of the wine, it seems.

well done guys
in for one

Very tempting. molarchae loves a good Pinot!

Kyles right on the money. With food you won’t even notice it.

I drank it on its own and had that initial palate shock but adjusted to it quickly. A lot of times with tart wines I really get in the finish which I’m not big on. With this wine it came up front and then the finish didn’t have the bite I was expecting. I’m guessing it has too do with it being slightly heavier than your normal Pinot noir.

On its own it’s a 6.5, with food a 4.

That sounds pretty much right up my alley, but I just took delivery of 3 cases of wine I have no room for and as you might know the store is closed :frowning: next time! unless I can just have all my future deliveries go to the Klez storage center

I say we fight fire with fire and everyone sends their orders to rons house.

Heh Ron what is your address

Ha! Nice

Wife and I have been wine club members of this winery since 2006. In addition to their Pinot Noir, their white wine is also superb. We joined after purchasing a bottle of Inox chardonnay.

We love our club members!

Chehalem likes to showcase the vineyard influences of our 4 estate wines: each coming from their own distinct soil types and micro-climates. Utilizing native yeasts and allowing the wine to speak for itself, you could definitely say this is our house style. This is pinot with little intervention, a thoughtful use of french oak, and wines produced intentionally to complement food.

We believe that a great backbone of acidity makes Pinot Noir ageable and food friendly, while still maintaining approachable fruit, tannins and velvety mouth-feel. 30+ years of experience working with the amazing fruit from Oregon vineyards gives us the experience to strike just the right balance.

We are happy to send all of your orders to Ron’s house.

We can confidently say that Molarchae will love this Pinot. It’s that good.

The CHEHALEM team

That is the key  And in for a pack!
