Don’t waste your time or money. I bought two of these last month for the same price of $69.99. One was DOA. The other does not turn on after using it once… These things are massive, and a pain to return, assuming that you hold on to the massive box they come in, which you will want to send it back when it breaks.
I got one a couple months ago and it has been working good. Don’t expect it to heat you from very far away but I have had no problems. Without the remote you only have high or off. The remote gives you 3 heat settings. I’ve been thinking about getting a second one.
I have one and it works great on my patio. In the highest setting it does a nice job warming the area up, and yes, the remote is necessary for all three heat settings. I like the shade of amber light that it provides at night too.

Big deal. All electric resistance heaters are 100% efficient. That doesn’t make them the most cost effective choice.
