And $5 cheaper this time around, thats like getting the re-usable filter for free.
What kind of grinder is it? One of those rotary grinders like you’d find in a blender? Or, though I REALLY DOUBT IT, a burr grinder?
Also, stainless steel as far as I know is horrible to clean. Why they finish food-centric products with it I will not understand.
I have the non-grinding version of this coffee maker and I love it. Best coffee maker I’ve ever used and after 5 years of heavy use it’s still going strong. Fast, stylish and makes delicious coffee.
I don’t use the gold filter myself because I like a more filtered brew.
Found it new for $98.95 on Amazon, plus shipping.
Average review is 3/5 stars, and that’s with around 700 reviews. Ouch.
Further ouch: Average rating of 2.5/5 stars on Epinions.
This is a bean chopper. It is quite loud, and is a pain to clean. Apart from that, the machine is good.
What kind of maintenance does this filter require/wouldn’t it get really nasty after constant usage? I can just imagine a ton of bacteria growing in it. I know coffee is acidic, but leaving coffee grounds in there for a couple of hours if you don’t clean it out immediately after brewing can’t be good.
I figured -_________- … though a good grinder is much more expensive, so I wasn’t really expecting much!
There actually are a bunch of pretty useful reviews for this product at alatest. Overall, I’d say they give it an ‘average’ grade.

For drip coffee do you really need a burr grinder? Drip uses a course grind. I don’t believe uniformity improves drip coffee like it does for espresso.
Stainless steel does not rust. Some people associate plastic with cheap. Restaurants seem to have a lot of SS appliances.

Quite loud doesn’t quite capture it. It’s like listening to a high school shop class at work.
Was it refurbished by Cusinart? Or a third party? Who/where? I think it is a good idea to be meticulous about refurbished products which relate to food/drink, hygiene, the body etc.
same price at costco.
Coffee is supposed to wake you up.
For all of 30 seconds perhaps, though?
Can this thing make just one cup of coffee or do you have to make more like 5 to get a good brew?
