On the Chef’s Classic Enameled Cast Iron Chicken Fryer:

Who cooks on the outside?

also I have not used an enameled cast iron before [just he normal cast iron] Is there any difference in how hot it can go or care requirements?

What is it rated for in the oven?

Edit: Also how deep are these on the page? Looking for a good cast iron with a cover to bake bread in.

Thanks

Here’s the manual from the product page. It says oven to 500° F.

I’ll see what I can find out about depth. Googled a couple sites and seeing between 4.5" & 6.5". That could be without and with lid though.

UPDATE: We found the sample. It has a 3" interior depth.

Sorry I didn’t catch the Griddler offering before it sold out to share my negaive experience with this product. It is one of the worst products I have ever bought. Poor performance. Makes a mess. And more.

I want a griddler too! but it sold out

I purchased the fryer in blue and it came with irregular coating on the inside bottom of the pan. When I called cuisinart about the pan they wanted me to pay to ship the pan to them and were vague about replacing the defective product. These pans are heavy and to have to pay for shipping with no promise of a solution felt like throwing more good money after bad. I tried contacting woot using their customer service email three times and have yet to find a reply from woot regarding the irregular coating on the blue frier. I have had positive resolution of other order issues in the past but this pan and a missing order of circulon skillets and pouring sauce pan have meet on deaf ears with woot even after repeated requests for assistance. It seems someone is asleep at the kitchen department.

Thanks! that is a huge help. Much appreciated!

I just bought the red chicken fryer the last time it was up, and I was so excited when it came in the mail last Monday/Tuesday!!

It is beautiful! (or as beautiful as a pan can be.) I love cooking in cast iron, and needed a new larger frying pan. It’s heavy, and feels very solid. I had no problem with the coating on my pan. The enamel was even on the outside, and the cast iron looks flawless on the inside. I have not yet gotten to cook with it - just wash it and season it. It did now say it had to be seasoned on the instructions, but that’s what I’ve done with every cast iron pan I have ever owned, so… I can’t wait to use it
