I already have the frying pan and I do an annual deep clean using my ovens cleaning cycle. I assume if I did this with the casserole dish I’d have a disaster on my hands due to the porcelain internal lining. Any personal knowledge or experience that can confirm or deny this supposition?
i’ve had the 12" fryer for years, use it for so much, it’s awesome, and heavy.
Simply based on the pictures provided, I believe these particular Cuisinart pans use an enamel interior coating as well as exterior. If they do then you wouldn’t need to do a “deep cleaning” in your oven - there are easier (and less energy-intensive) ways to clean enamel. If they had a raw/unfinished cast iron interior then you can clean them just as you would your other cast iron - the heat from your oven would not affect the exterior enamel coating.
I own enameled cast iron oval and round Dutch ovens and love them. Not only is cooking with cast iron great but clean-up is really easy because of the coating. Of course I have “raw” cast iron skillets as well and depending on the pan cleaning and seasoning are much more involved than the enamel-coated Dutch ovens. I’ve only used my oven to initially season my uncoated cast iron skillets and even after many years have not had to use it again other than to actually cook something. Unless you horribly burn something in uncoated cast iron or the seasoning becomes rancid then you don’t really have to do a “deep cleaning”.
Good point. I can clean this 7 quart pan conventionally which would be a better option. My raw pans usually get bad enough from etouffe and gumbo that they need heavy treatment at least once a year.
PRICE DROP
Hey all, the blue gradient fryer was mispriced at $69.99 instead of $59.99. We’re contacted CS and they’ll be refunding the difference to those that already purchased.
Small Print: If you already purchased, that money will hop back into your pockets soonish.
What is the capacity for the fryer?
Since the fryer is 12" (vs. 13" for the Dutch oven) and about half the height then I would estimate 3 quarts.
Or 4 moderately-sized chicken thighs if you keep them space apart properly!
