Is it really worth to buy a UPS „factory reconditioned“?
Are they changing the batteries in them? Or are they just looked over for external appearance?
All the ones that I have purchased through Woot were factory reconditioned by the manufacturer, and came both with the 1 year manufacturer warranty (which I’ve never had to use, despite having a handful of differing models), as well as a new battery.
I can’t be absolutely certain that it was “fresh off the shelf”, but mine have come with the same plastic disconnect tab as new models, which needs to be removed in order for the battery to provide power. I haven’t seen so much as a little scratch that would indicate that my units were anything less than pristine. For some products and refurbished things, it’s worth asking, and my experience has been good over several years of purchasing these.
Your mileage may vary, obviously - But with a manufacturer warranty, it means that you’ve got a little more coverage than the basic Woot warranty, for whatever that is worth to you
