Time to learn the Das Keyboard story

Perfect Reviews on the MX Blue over at Newegg

Is the 4c Professional with Browns new or factory reconditioned like all the others?

edit Also, from further research, these don’t use Cherry MX switches but a clone called Greetech. Supposedly they’re not as consistent as Cherrys.

FYI, the 4C models do not use Cherry MX switches.

As per their website the 4C uses “…best-in-class, mechanical key switches…” while the 4 uses “…best-in-class, Cherry MX mechanical key switches…”

As above edit…they use Greentech switches.

It’s a sweet keyboard if you like honey. Stick happy mess sitting in the corner waiting for customer service.

Translation: not happy with the one I bought and the less than stellar service.

Don’t go there but that’s just me.

Purchased the Das 4 Ultimate with Blue switches and love it. Big upgrade from their Professional S keyboard series.

Some quick Googling didn’t yield much results. Does anyone know if these are easy to disassemble? I have a ton of Gateron switches and looooooove the case on these things, would love to mod this.

I snagged a 4 Pro with the blues a couple weeks ago from here, and I love it. I want one for work but I don’t want to drive my coworkers nuts so I was hoping for a 4 Pro brown.

I can completely and without hesitation recommend the 4C. Have the exact model with the MX Blue switches, and it’s a pleasure to work on. Typing angle took me a while to get used to (lower than the Logitech wave I’d been using) but well worth it.

Keys provide a very satisfying response when clicked (you either love it or hate it, it seems), the additional functions (volume knob, some media, and sleep) come in handy.

Only drawback is that I can’t surf around anymore when on a conference call at work - those keys announce what you’re doing even over the phone!

Just an observation here; Is anyone else think it’s odd that there’s been this many rounds of refurb keyboards from Das Keyboard?

The 4 and the 4c are their newest models and I’ve seen the 4’s on here at least three times this year…

Rumor around the net is they switched manufactures back around 2012 and quality has declined since:

For what its worth, I’ve owned and heavily used a Model S Ultimate over the last 3 years, and it still works beautifully despite being banged up from me dragging it around with me everywhere.

Just got the keyboard (4C Professional, Blue switch), these aren’t Cherry MX. It shows Greetech labeling when I pulled the keycap off.
