I purchased a weighted blanket from the mothership several months ago, hoping that it would help ease my getting to sleep. Even though I weigh nearly 300lbs, I purchased the 20# blanket feeling that I didn’t want the full recommended amount of weight on me just yet (10-15% of your body weight is the typical low end recommendation for weighted blankets).
I could only tolerate this blanket for 3 days. During the first two full nights the extra weight spiked my blood pressure and gave me joint pain in my legs and feet from the weight. I felt like death warmed over every morning. Half-way through the third night I folded it up and gave it away the next day.
Yes, it may work for some folks but it surely didn’t work out well for me. I would urge caution if you have pre-existing issues with your blood pressure, hip/knee/ankle/foot problems, or any combination of the above. Based on what I went through, it should come with a warning label.

In just got one and I love it more than I imagined. I deal with chronic pain from my back fusion, fibromyalgia and neuralgia in my legs. The weight on me helps ease me fibro pain and for whatever reason I’ve been sleeping great, which is unusual for me! I really love it, but I think it’s just one of those things you have to try for yourself.
Thank you - I’ve got dodgy hips from radiation and I was thinking about one of these. I didn’t even consider that it might screw with my stupid hips.

Or is the blanket supposed to be spot cleaned?
