Did you have breakfast today?
Lobster Thermidor a Crevette with a mornay sauce served in a Provencale manner with shallots and aubergines garnished with truffle pate, brandy and with a fried egg on top and spam.
Coffee.
Well, since I get up at ~11a and go to bed ~3a, your lunch is my breakfast so… yes/no?
Not your usual breakfast, I had chorizo tacos birria and churros w/ black coffee.
I rarely eat breakfast unless I’m off for the day
Man, I got here late and didn’t get to make the LoTR references. Kudos to @Froodyfrog and @ShadowHeir for doing so. But wait, Gimli has a response to Hobbit’s breakfast and second breakfast:
In non-Middle Earth news, I likely will eat breakfast, but you are asking me too soon.
No I don’t have to break my fast I eat all the time whether it is a couple of shelled peanuts a gummy worm or a full meal I don’t have an eating schedule I used to when I held a job and slept like a normal person I will again when I get a new job but if I am hungry I eat if I am not I don’t meh. That is my life.
Nope
Yes I did, same as most days - a can of Monster and a Little Debbie Nutty Buddy bar.
Yep! I had an apple.
Would love a three egg omelet, but saving money for a BOC.
Way to keep it going! Yes, it is canon that Hobbit’s love of food required six-meal times, which the movie fills in with UK meals:
Their faces were as a rule good-natured rather than beautiful, broad, bright-eyed, red-cheeked, with mouths apt to laughter, and to eating and drinking. And laugh they did, and eat, and drink, often and heartily, being fond of simple jests at all times, and of six meals a day (when they could get them). (J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring, 2)
Now, if memory serves me right, the Dwarven meal times are not specified with a chapter or page. The Hobbit and LoTR gives plenty of evidence of their love of food. I think Gimli’s quote still applies as eating for a day: “That still only counts as one!” They eat and eat whenever possible to get their protein in to keep digging. This is why I feel kindred to the Dwarfs with love of melee weapons, introverted dwelling underground, and eating.
Funny side note is J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis saw Old Walt’s portrayal of Dwarves in Snow White. They hated it! I imagine Tolkien and Lewis heckling the movie screen like Waldorf and Statler.
