Digital Crap on the App

@mydearwootson

Nope. Not buying ANY of this.

  1. Pumpkin spice only belongs in pies.
  2. You’ll spend $15 on a shirt if you haven’t already. You won’t be able to stop yourself.
  3. Nobody enjoys Aldis.

Those are cooking pumpkins you fool! You have to put them in a can first and then come the spices.

You’ll spend $15. It’ll happen. You can bargain shop on woot all you want but eventually they’ll get something you must have immediately. You’ll buy it and then realise you could have complained to customer service for a coupon.

Aldis mixes their frozen foods so everything tastes like fish. You have to own a quarter to get a cart. You have to pay for the bags negating that $0.10 savings on green bananas. You have to put the stupid fish flavored pizza into a bag yourself and carry it out to your car. When you get home you’ll find an ad for the local mom and pop where yellow bananas are $0.25 less and they’ll give you a bag and put them in your car. There is nothing good about Aldis. Unless you like fish flavored ice cream.

Orrrrr, how about you offer us the ability to pay more to take known crap items out of the normal BOCs like I dunno… Blackish season 1-n, elf on the shelf books, or 300 iPhone 4 phone cases? You can display the said crap items and up the price for each one removed.

Positive benefit: very few stray shopping carts to bang into cars in the parking lot.

The bags are reusable. The charge is supposed to help folks break the habit of paying extra, though stores definitely don’t mind you paying extra!

Since my old post at shirt.woot was eaten in the forum conversion, here’s my same no-sew t-shirt tote method I posted elsewhere:

Not if you have a stockpile of B0C stinky socks bags!

Not if you have a real cat.

I’d even pay to “donate” all the phone cases to a wooter of my choice.

I’m not getting my stinky socks bags dirty on fish flavored aldi’s produce. It’s just not happening.

Have any of you bought something from aldis and thought “wow this tastes great”? No. You compare it to the name brand and think about that two dollars you saved while you’re trying to convince yourself fish lasagna is edible.

I used to go for the basics. Milk, bread, eggs, flour and their produce. It’s all cheaper and more convenient at the W now. The three Aldis by me have gone downhill.

And you’d better believe people still leave those stupid pay-to-shop carts in the parking lot. Now they can pass it off by saying it’s a “good deed” and they’re “paying it forward”. Dirty hippies! All of them.

There has been a sad Aldi’s near me, and I’d be inclined to agree with you. But learned stores can vary a LOT. My DIL (who is …ah… not picky, but has higher standards than me), happily shops at another one in a different Twin Cities area.

Is that what I’m missing? My cats are like asleep most of the time, gets moody at other times, are happy when I’m playing with them, and on multiple occasions, found them next to a knocked-over pile of stuff or on my laptop while I’m trying to do some work.

But hasn’t @acraigl gotten enough fun abuse over the DS docks thing?!?

Yes, but I also tend to buy stuff that’s not easily available elsewhere, like some of the cheeses. I just finished off my last pack of Butterkäse.

Two returned shopping carts paid for a laptop bag from Amazon Warehouse.

I think what you have is a poltergeist.

Haha…no. I think @acraigl likes the attention. Besides it might inspire some new tshirt designs.

I live in an area where cheese is made. It’s a thing here. I miss the days when Aldis was good. And maybe there is a nice one still out there. But I’m personally over that fad.

10-4 boss. Item number 429 on the planning sheet is now “This”.

on a more serious note - mydearWootson is totally up to something. The deals on Woot lately have been extra amazing and I have been buying all kinds of stuff. I was telling my wife about how I was finally able to get a Yeti rambler … and was raving about the latest Hoover carpet cleaner I got (named him Herbert)…then she looked at me with those eyes that I was sure said “oh… how lucky I am to have such an amazing husband…” But no! she told me to stop buying so much . Made me sad.
So…I do like your idea. I can relate to it personally.

Although I do worry about randomly pulling an item. Imagine I ordered some sweet thing from Woot and the S.O.M add on item ended up being this: Lysol Power & Fresh Toilet Bowl Cleaner … then my wife will murder me twice.

I don’t know. I think @Ajit31415’s wife is actually up for a sainthood, just waiting on the final paperwork. She puts up with a lot of the worst Dad Jokes.

Oh please! The Marvelous Mrs. Wootson has been the beneficiary of many a fine Woots including a beautiful yet functional houndstooth North Face jacket, foam roller (don’t tell her it was only $1), and most recently an Echo Dot to call her own. Not to mention that she has claimed a majority of the B0C hauls. Woot has been wery wery good to her!

That’s true. She is a saint. She forgives me even when I am not guilty. So kind.
