So who actually makes this thing? Dremel is not a 3D printer manufacture. It’s important to know what brand this actually is.
Still proprietary filament?
Does this come with any of the accessories you need to run.
I believe Flashforge is the company that Dremel teamed up with to make this. There is an article below that talks about the first 3d printer with Dremel’s name on it back in 2014.

I do understand that the above article is on a different printer but I would think that Dremel is still using the same supplier.
This seems… expensive. Another 3D printer from a well-known HDMI cable-selling company is $449 and has similar specs, and is not currently on sale. Their printer uses standard filament – not so sure about this one. How much are we paying for the name?
It is made by BOSCH
To answer myself: yes, and PLA only. But it might be hackable. But in that case, why not get something else?
Only prints PLA. As an enclosed type of 3D printer you would think it could print ABS.
This is a TOTALLY INSANE price for a printer with such a small build area and limited capabilities. You can get a better printer with a bigger build area, a heated bed, the ability to print in all sorts of materials (instead of just PLA), and that can use any generic filament spool (instead of Dremel’s craptastic proprietary filament) for less than half this price. I would expect a printer like this to cost <$150.
Did I ever tell you about how woot used to have good deals?
I got an email yesterday from Sainsmart that there is a new version of the Ender 3 available so I’d wait for v1 Enders to show up here on Woot because they are awesome printers. I would not touch this printer and its proprietary filament.
I was looking at the specs and product description on their website and it appears that they now support other brands of PLA and they have changed their warranty info to indicate that.
