Bought the white one 2 years ago. These things are awesome. Keeps my office cool in the summers and warm in the winters. It was one of my better woot purchases.
We do notice the burning smell when the heater is on. Is that common?

That depends on the smell. It’s common to have that smell when you first fire up the heater, but it should not smell every time. That’s usually the smell of dust burning off. You will smell this lovely distinct fragrance every time you heat dust covered metal. You can reduce the pungivity (is that a word?) by dusting the unit thoroughly prior to use. It’s been my odious observation that you can reduce but not eliminate that scent.
If it’s an electrical wire burning smell or like rubber burning … that’s not common - and not good. Unplug immediately and toss it out your back door.
I do not recommend leaving the unit unattended. Ever. (Leaving the house, not the room) Just to be safe. Electric heaters will do a number on your electric bill if you’re not cognitive about the usage.
I’m sure that none of this was of any use … because you probably already knew this. Doubtful you were anxiously awaiting a strangers reply to your query. However, I provided one for your enjoyment. Happy heating!
Super helpful. Thanks!
