Dyson V11 Torque Drive Cordless Vacuum

Dyson V11 Torque Drive Cordless Vacuum

I love hate my V8 dyson.
It picks up like Godzilla attacking Tokyo.
And then it stops because it’s full of dog hair that has to be fished out using sticks, forks, butter knives, or crochet hooks. I mean it is a huge PITA because it takes 3 minutes to get the canister full and ten minutes to empty it.
Where is your scientific engineering now, Mr English guy in the black turtleneck?

Wanna break it faster? Vacuum up dry-wall dust and watch how quickly it dies. Ask me how I know.

Best Dyson V11 Model: Animal vs Torque Drive vs Outsize - YouTube ← great video on these.

Animal is cheaper than the Torque but has more power, suction and airflow but the Torque has the higher quality screen. Bang for your buck the Animal wins.

So now the question is price. Is a $430 refurb worth it? Well Home Depot sold the V11 Torque on 5/11/2021 for $500 brand new. So personally I feel Woot as usual could do way better on these prices. Everytime they post a Dyson refurb it’s always within $50-$75 of the brand new price from other vendors within 30 days. Amazon also sold the V11 Torque for $499 on 4/30/2021. NewEgg sold the V11 Torque also for $499 on 3/17/2021.

So honestly, I’d wait and just buy it brand new for $70 more from either Newegg, Amazon or BB&B for a lot longer of a warranty. These show up as refurbs for a reason. It’s not like you’re not going to eventually need that warranty.

Comparing this to other refurb V11s, Newegg sold the V11 Animal (more powerful but cheaper) for $360 on 2/3/2021. You can see why I think Woot’s Refurb prices need a lot of work.

My last major complaint is that the V11 did away with the “soft fluffy brush” which is by far dyson’s best attachment to date. This is the entire reason people were buying V10s that came with the brush. It’s an amazing brush and sell for nearly $100 on it’s own. The V15 comes with this brush again and BB&B was selling the V15 for $560 back in March. The V15 is more powerful than the Outsize but it’s way smaller and a better vacuum overall. I am personally waiting for a good deal on the V15 for my next dyson after killing my V8. V15’s removable battery and coming with multiple batteries is a huge selling point for me. These vacuums don’t have a lot of vacuum time if you like to do your whole house at once you will kill it way before you finish and that second battery would be a life saver. Also worth noting the V15 comes with two anti-hair-tangle attachments for the person complaining about pet hair. It has a corkscrew shape that prevents hair from ever getting stuck. It untangles itself as it vacuums. It’s a huge game changer for pet owners.

I own this vacuum (purchased from another source and not reconditioned). I am not exaggerating when I say it has changed my life. I have 3 cats that kick cat litter around like drunken sailors and eat like barbarians. I use this vacuum to clean up after them every day. It goes from carpet to hardwood perfectly. No changing attachments or flipping switches. I use the mini roller head to clean the furniture on my screened porch - you guessed it - cat hair! It picks it all up like a champ. Easy to dump out the bin too. No bags either. Just a washable filter that you clean in the sink once a month. Since I use it every day of my life, I did go to the dyson website to buy an extra filter. That way when one is drying from being washed, I can just snap the other one on and keep vacuuming. This vacuum sucks - but in a good way! Get it.

You may want to go Scottish and try to attach a bagpipe bag to the English vacuum! Much larger capacity! If not, try a kilt.

i’ve three dogs but the worst offender by far is the corgi.
That dog can put you ankle deep in shed fur in a week.

Unfortunately for Dyson, I do touch a vacuum after getting a robo vac.
