If anyone can tell me how to make it display like this with the big clock and a picture I’d appreciate it. All mine shows is a bunch of ads…
Is refurbished condition 1 better than 2? What’s the difference?
No 3.5 jack on v2. Also says you can’t view your camera remotely on v1, but that’s what I’ve got and I can peek in anytime via Alexa on my phone.
As far as the numbers beside the conditions go:

They were asking about something different than the generation differences, but thanks for mentioning them (the generation differences).

We received this yesterday but the power cord that came with it didn’t fit the product. Emailed support and had a refund the next day. Not complaining but we were kinda hoping to just get the correct cord. We will go buy one with the refund money I guess!
Unfortunately, we don’t have access to parts for Amazon devices. The best we can offer is a replacement but it’s faster for you if we refund you and you can reorder it if you like.
I ordered an echo ball and they had the incorrect power cord for my device also. The kicker was they did not have more units to send. Woot needs to hold there seller accountable or at least give give the buyer a $10 gift card.
Hopefully you already have the answer but in case you don’t- swipe the Echo screen down from the top. Select settings- select Home and Clock - the select Home Content - toggle off any settings selected. Swipe down and select Home. You now have the Background with only Time and Temperature!
I just got this and have wasted the last 1/2 hour (so far) trying to set it up. It refuses to recognize my Amazon account. I’m doing live chat with Amazon support now, and they initially told me that Woot has to clear the previous owner’s information, but that’s completely ridiculous. This is an Amazon device, Amazon-refurbished, and sold by an Amazon subsidiary. If I don’t get this resolved in the next few minutes, I will be returning for a refund and will never buy from Woot again.
In total, spent almost 90 minutes with Amazon customer support and they could not resolve the issue. They tell me that the specific unit I purchased is “blacklisted.” If it was “Amazon refurbished” as described in the Woot listing, why wasn’t this problem solved at that time? And why is Woot even allowed to sell such items?
I am returning the item, but honestly I should be compensated for the total waste of time (and I still now need to spend time taking the item to UPS).
I’m sorry for the problems with the units. As you determined, we get these from Amazon so we don’t have a lot of control over the process for refurbishing.
CS will help you out though.
This response is equally inadequate as I was told by Amazon that Woot would have to fix the issue; hence, we have you each blaming the other, and I’m the one losing out, not just on the product, but in wasting my time to try to troubleshoot (and also having to go UPS to ship the item back).
Notice, too, that Woot is not addressing an issue that could apply to all refurbished items. You’ve lost a long-time customer, and I will recommend anyone from buying from you.
Yeah, Amazon Customer Service doesn’t know we exist half the time and what we do the rest. They’ve never given us access to the tools to do anything with Amazon devices other than selling them. I wish we could fix it but we’re unable to.
CS will help you out.
Again, deflecting blame is not good customer service.
Also, FYI Customer Service offered to ship me another unit… but how do I know I won’t receive another blacklisted device? Woot should stop selling such items altogether.
I certainly won’t buy anything from Woot ever again, and am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Trustpilot.
[The only reason I’m even bothering to post about this is to prevent others from suffering the same fate]
I have 2 balls and a dot. How’s this for sound quality compared to them?
Umm…
You could try to buy the correct cord instead of an entire new item. It may save you $$$. Good luck! Also kudos to woot for the fast refund!
