I love mine and its over a year. It’s really for meals for one or a large serve of fries for two (depending how greedy for fries you are)… for me does the job and it takes up little space in my tidy NYC kitchen. I’d just buy a silicon air fryer matt that you can cut to size - I’m getting one with holes. Just to protect the non-stick. It’s not bad but after a lot of use it’s getting pretty cruddy and I’m always a little worried if those forever chemicals that make it work. Cos if the paint flakey it’s likely your eating some of it.
