I never realized how much our local Lowes’s discounts appliances until I checked into this.
I don’t know if this a regionally priced thing (I recently discovered a dining table priced at $3k here was only $900 in North Carolina), and of course they want $$ to deliver it (if you own one or know someone with a pickup truck self move is not difficult).
But almost $200 cheaper than WOOT! ? Way to go Lowe’s - Boo-yah!
Isn’t High Point NC the place where a lot of US furniture is manufactured? Company headquarters are also there. Point of origin probably makes a difference.
I’m sure it does, though for some things being locally manufactured makes less difference. I should also have mentioned that furniture is also cheaper in the Wichita, KS area and about the only reasoning behind that has to be people just won’t spend huge $$$ (nor do many of them buy other than “traditional” styles) for furniture as easily a many folks in the Chicago area will.
I was hoping someone would have chimed in with a “brick and mortar” price well away from the Chicago area, as I know many appliances are made in the Evansville, In area and if this is one then that explains the price at a Chicago area Lowe’s.
