GE Opal 1.0 Nugget Ice Maker w/ Side Tank

GE Opal 1.0 Nugget Ice Maker w/ Side Tank

Takes big nuggets to charge about $450 for an ice maker when my freezer does it for free.

Friend, people pay money at restaurants to crunch on their ice, especially Sonic. This definitely saves money in the long run. Or you could just get it because a dedicated ice maker gives you more ice faster.

Although a very good deal, be aware that there is a 2.0 version that came out a little while back so you’re not getting the newest version.

It’s a pretty good deal, but, I still cannot justify it. Even if I DO soooo love to crunch on that ice!!

I have this model, and i love it! It’s 100% the best way to drink soda, and we love it for cocktails. I can’t imagine having it without the extra tank, so buy this one. We have it on 24/7, but it makes ice so quickly you could basically plug it, start making dinner, and have nugget ice by the time you’re done cooking.

I will say it has an app, but I didn’t really use that much. You can use the nightlight function, or set time that it won’t make ice, which I could see caring about.

It isn’t quiet - it makes noise the entire time it’s refilling, unlike a regular icemaker. You might want to use it to make ice before a party, and then turn it off when company is around.
