Some good reviews (3.5 out of 5.0) over at homedepot.com much better reviews (4.6 out of 5.0)over at wayfair.com

4.8 Stars over at Walmart

I was enjoying this composter but sadly it didn’t last even a year. The roller track on each edge of the barrel begin to fail; on one end it developed a tear and on the other track, bits of the barrel material began to chip and crack. As it sits now, it cannot be turned even once.

I used it for grass clippings and kitchen scraps and had composted materials for about 8 months. It was about halfway full when I added one of the coco brics. It looks like the roller tracks failed because of the additional weight of the wet coco bricks, which wasn’t that much really; about the weight of a gallon of water.

If you wonder how their customer service is going to be, try going to goodideas.com - nothing there.

I posted pics of the crumbling container to amazon, where I bought it. The pics were up for a while but then disappeared from my review. Shysters.

Stay away!

I really would like to get a composter, but am worried about this resin being able to withstand the winter weather we receive in Syracuse, NY.

I bought this about a year ago and have loved it.

We used it for yard clippings and food debris. It composts very quickly and efficiently.

I am a pretty weak person, and I can turn it fairly easily until it gets about half full, and then it is too heavy for me and I make my husband do it.

Other than that, it has been really wonderful. Before this I had the unit that you manually turned with a shovel, and this has been worth every penny I paid for it. I highly recommend.

I got two of them because I filled the first one before it composted completely. This way I won’t over fill (about half full allows for easy turning) and I can empty it at my convenience. I find that it is very convenient to use and I don’t have to worry about animals dragging my old eggshells into the neighbor’s yard. I empty it by removing the lid and turning it over onto the garden. Tough to do but shovels are slow!

Hi there - Good Ideas sales - the material is very robust and very thick - it will hold up well even in cold climates - should be no issue even in NY.

Compost Wizard? Gives a whole new spin to that Pinball Wizard I’d heard about years ago (Who?).

I must not be putting the right ratios of stuff in mine. I’ve had it going for months and it’s not turned into mulch yet.

I’ve had the same experience. (Guess I should check it again though.) Meanwhile, for jaferson - bought mine last year and it was fine through the extreme cold we had last year in the DC area.
