Google Pixel 3 64GB (Unlocked)

I’ve gone through quite a few Pixels (almost every model), and have had little to no bootloop issues.

But yeah, I’ve seen others with MANY issues.

I personally wouldn’t buy a phone which has a locked bootloader.

I’ve also used quite a few Pixel generations. First generation went through several replacements due to bootloops and finally the last replacement device crashed and would not turn on. Pixel 2 was fine. Pixel 3 had a bootloop issue and replacement was fine. Now I have the Pixel 4A and encounter an issue with the lock screen where it constantly keeps asking for the PIN. It is stuck in a loop. Tried recovery mode and wiping the phone and now in the initial setup it asks for PIN, and when I input it, it goes back to request a PIN. I’m stuck with a disabled device (waiting on Google to respond). All this to say, I must be a sucker for punishment and also have bad luck! This is why I’m considering one of these deals. Need a replacement device now in the meantime.

Wow… Why would you choose to get another Pixel with all those problems? I would be looking into OnePlus and other alternatives that have easy bootloader unlocking for AOSP support.

Thank you for talking me out of picking up a Pixel. I’ll stick with my iPhone. Walled garden, yes, but since I switched to the iPhone 8 Plus in 2017 I haven’t had any hardware issues with it, the XS Max that replaced it, or the 12 Pro Max I have now. AppleCare+ is basically a waste of money for me. I don’t miss Android enough to put up with hardware issues again…

The Android world is broad yet limited in a way. OnePlus has great phones but worse support than Google. Samsung devices are best but come with bloat preinstalled software (some that can’t be removed). I stick with the Pixel phones mostly for the clean Android software experience plus some Pixel specific features. As for iPhones, I love them too and I’ve never had a doubt as to the quality of their devices but experience wise I do prefer Android. It’s just a matter of taste. As for Pixel devices, I never buy them full price and usually buy the previous year model. Not that big a financial loss for me if anything were to happen. Not everyone has had the same bad luck I have had but I still persist on using one. Hard to explain! Haha.

Sounds reasonable to me. Thanks for the explanation. Honestly I just want one so I can play with Android 12…Plus I kind of want to see the AI features like call screening. Hmm…

I ordered this phone brand new, after opening the box I found the phone already had a Verizon sim card, I am not sure if it is a used/refurbished phone. Any thoughts on this, if this is something carriers do, or should I just return and ask for the replacement.
Also the sim tray is soft plastic, I never seen any tray like this.
Thanks

I bought one of the dirt cheap pixel 2 phones they have up recently. It’s well past getting any support and it updated to Android 11 when it first booted. Just because it says they are out of the update period they still seem to get new updates for a while. Mine has some screen scratches and body scuffs but no burn in and works fine like a mini tablet on my wifi. It did take the sim out of my G5plus Motorola but couldn’t use it. Probably needs some initialization to the new phone.
So as far as updating I think this phone might get a few extra os updates then they claim but I could be wrong.

Hi there. We checked with our vendor. Because these were originally Verizon phones, they will have a Verizon SIM installed but they are fully unlocked and new.

They are slippery…

I know it’s probably a redundant question, but I want to use Republic Wireless and it has lists of models that work for it. I don’t see a model on this listing, but will this work with Republic Wireless? The model they would typically call for is (G013A).

Call quality is excellent. I bought this during the May 2nd deal. Very happy with it. It updated to Android 11.

Will this phone do VoLTE, ie HD Voice (4G calling)? On Verizon? On AT&T. In other words will this phone work when Verizon and AT&T shut off their 3G networks next year?

Per the features:

4G LTE speed

Provides fast web connection for downloading apps, streaming content, and staying connected on social media.

If that’s not what you’re asking, I’m sure the Google will help.

The Pixel 3 DOES support VoLTE, but since it’s carrier dependent, they can always change stuff.

Not what I am asking–suggest you google VoLTE…

Perhaps you should google your carrier+device combination-specific question instead of asking in the deal site’s forum.

The question is: has Verizon–since this is a Verizon phone–enabled VoLTE (that is HD Voice) on this phone. AT&T has blocked VoLTE capable phones not purchased directly from them. Verizon will not activate a new phone if it is not VoLTE capable–and is blocking some that are, if not purchased from them directly.

Best to speak to them directly, as carriers can change their policy at any time.

Sorry if this is not the answer which you are looking for.

Nope–it depends on the actual device that is being sold. Googling will just tell us that the phone is VoLTE capable, not if it has been enabled on the phone that woot is selling. Someone at woot should know…

Tried that. Verizon wants an IMEI for the phone in question…
