Yes, and yet that 300w turned out to be sufficient for the base system my geforce gts 250 and a second terabyte hard drive.

(I found a site that estimated the graphics card’s peak and typical power usage ahead of time; no problem.)

I’m no doubt near its limit there, but if I’m dying for a bigger power supply, they’re cheap and easy to install.

what is wrong with HP? we can’t all afford alienware ya know. far as i know it is better than dell, asus/emachines and its affordable. Specs seem pretty good, except for the 5400rpm HDD, what were they thinking?! If i didnt already have a desktop i would be on top of this!

ps, i bought a refurb hp from newegg, threw in a video card and it is working fine playing left 4 dead 2 and surfing the web and watching high def video. no complaints

I would suggest trying it first before buying a video card upgrade. I’ve had NO problems playing any movies at all.
