I can’t seem to find this on the iGo site - any one know if it will charge my LovePlug?
Do you use a mac? Lots of guys that work at the port use macs. That’s the only reason I ask really. Just wondering if you were one of those guys, you know, those guys that use macs that work at the port.
Its iGo that leaves this junk in the dust. The kwikSynCh works off the fact that most devices will charge off of the 5v provided by a USB port. These cables do not attempt to provide any voltage regulation and will not charge anything that cannot charge off of a USB port. USB specs say the port should provide a maximum of 500mA at 5v which is 2.5 watts of power. Many cheap motherboards do not monitor the current draw on a USB port and I have seen devices using similar cables fry the board when they pulled 2 amps of current. Most people can use these cables without any problems but I would prefer to have something which actually regulates the voltage to something at least close to the correct charging voltage.
I use it for my iPod and it works faster than charging it on the computer. I have one and got an adapter for it though - I don’t know if the correct adapter comes with this offer. Even so, you can pick one up for about $8 at any store. Even Radio Shack had them…
That’s true, but the “two tips” are not the same tips. You can have one “laptop tip” (S or T series) and one iTip (A and maybe B series). So you can’t charge two cell phones, for example, without the splitter cable mentioned previously. You can never charge two high-powered devices.
And the price of the Everywhere 130 is even greater than $130.
Haha, I remember seeing these at the airports in China & Japan. Kinda funny to see running a guy running a stand that’s just a wooden board with like 40 retractable tips.
wow this is a great deal! man and i just got only one for my nokia for 25$
It puts out 3.1 to 9 volts at 1.5 amps. And input is 100 to 240 vac 50/60 Hz.
The tips are “worth” squat. The base unit itself is a pretty nice piece of equipment because you can adjust it to pretty much any voltage you want with just a resistor. They probably don’t make much on the sale of the base unit itself.
The flip side is that they make the money back and then some by charging you a ridiculous amount of money for what amounts to a tiny jack with maybe 3 resistors in it. The more useful the device is to you (i.e. the more things you want to plug into it), the more adapters you have to buy, thus increasing their profit. They practically guarantee that you will need to buy adapters by including 5 outdated and useless adapters. I have no use for ANY of the included adapters.
If you really think the the “tips alone are worth $100”… hey, I’ll sell you 10 worthless tips for $50, shipped. You should easily be able to turn a profit on that, right? Man, you’d make a killing!
You have a distorted view of “worth”.
i thought that AC-DC adapters that come with any electronic device had a different requirement; some devices even say to use only the AC adapter that comes with the device. Also, I thought that most devices used 12 watts; this one is only 8 watts. How am I all screwed up (as I’m sure that I am; I usually am)?
IGO is really lacking in tips for a lot of items. Couldnt get a tip for my Toshiba U305 Satellite laptop nor for my Canon DV Camcorder. Their customer service sucks really bad. I know two Radio Shacks that sent all their IGO products back because of problems they were creating. One told me a lot of customers were buying the product and then discovering that they did not make a tip for the product and they were returning the product.
I paid about $140 with a padded carrying case, and 2 extra tips.
And you’re right that you can only power one “high powered” device at a time. But then I only have one device that requires an “S” tip, my portable computer. Both my cell phone and iPod use “A” tips.

We got bounce. Will it sell out or will it return ?
I was under the impression that I was the only guy there with a computer.
Yeah - a LovePlug definitely needs a tip.
I couldn’t find the USB tips on their website anywhere. Can you list the tip numbers?
I already have a car cigarette lighter model and tips for my iPaq and my Razr. The Razr uses the mini USB tip.
I think it’s the A53. I’ll double check later.
you should be able to search for your product on iGo.com. Look in the top left of the page.
Edit: i’m wrong about the A53 for the razr. According to the search, the right tip would be A32.

Well, I have a USB charger cable for both my phone and head set, total cost $10 for both cables. Not only does the cable provide SYNC for my phone (so I needed the cable anyway), it acts as a charger cable as well when plugged into USB.
Then I have a cig lighter/USB plug in my car, and a computer with USB at work, and a laptop with USB when I travel. A small cord is MUCH easier to travel with than a charger and tips. Oh, and for when I do not carry a laptop, I have a wall wat that has a powered USB plug on it, that cost me $4.
Not so sheltered at all, sorry, nice try. I still passed
Sorry, you carry a LOT more than I do. Still pass.
Got mine today, while I expect it will work with my phone (which I bought used off ebay and it came with wall and car charger, so i don’t need another) it doesn’t work with my Philips GoGear MP3 player I WOOTed a few months back. Checked their site and no tips for it either. So i guess off to ebay i go…
Mine was waiting for me when I got home last night. Woo Hoo!
I punched “Philips GoGear” into their search and got the A99 tip. Give it a look see.
