JVC DVD Recorder / Hi-Fi VHS VCR Combo

Cool if you need it. Good price.

Wow, I just bought a VCR. Too bad :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, not bad I guess. Won’t buy it, but many will.

maaaan, i need one of these but i just paid bills and have no money at all!!! nooooooo

VCR? Not tonight honey, I have a headache…

Sean McGregor (NOT ME, MY FRIEND) wants WOOT to put up Queen Size mattresses for a very very low price, and wants it still shipped for 5 bucks!

I think he is a fool. But oh well, he wanted this to be posted. Night all.

Welcome to Dumbya’s America. Nobody has any money.

Apparently there are a lot of problems with this unit.

See JVC DR-MV1 DVD Recorder - VideoHelp

But it does have an IR blaster to set cable channels.

VHS > DVD. That’s right. I said it. VHS is better than DVD. The industry has fooled you into thinking DVD is superior, but I know better.

This is a good woot and a neat item. A little more than I’d pay, but nice nonetheless.

Perhaps those of you who parrot the line “I stayed up for this?” should stop staying up if you’re so continuously dissatisfied with what woot has to offer.

These things are GREAT! I bought one for my parents for Christmas last year. They use it to copy old home videos to DVD. . . we use it to copy TIVO recorded movies to DVD and take back with us to college to watch! I’d buy one for myself except that I don’t even have a TV service at all (rabbit ears don’t even pick anything up)…

wootfurbished: crap i don’t want because someone already found out the hard way that it was no good the first time around. no deal. new stuff please.

Looks pretty good, especially for those people who don’t have a computer with the necessary power and/or hardware for recording to DVD.

Not too sure about the fact that it’s a refurb though…

Question: will it allow for copying between dvd and vhs if the source is macrovision encoded? If so, it’s worth the price right there for converting old VHS collection (or all the kids’ disney movies) to DVD.

Decent price, as it was listed on Overstock.com for low $200; however, several customers complained that the unit does not come with ANY connecting cables and that they had to spend an additional $100 to buy these…bummer.

Bleh, I’ve had two different DVD Recorders, and IMO, they’re not really worth the money.

I haven’t read up on this one, but the two I’ve owned are extremely picky and will only accept certain media, you could only playback the dvd once it was completely full, and generally the quality looked worse than VHS.

That’s from my experiences. You’re probably better off getting a tivo or a tv capture card and a DVD Burner… DVD recorders have outlasted their novelty.

I’ll take it. I’ll also throw in 10 extra bucks for you to get rid of peteromans11 daily crap.

Im in agreement with your “stayed up for this” comment …but VHS better than DVD? …your kidding right? … Have you ever tried doing instant scene selection with a linear VHS tape? Even with a (usually inaccuarate) tape counter its gonna take awhile

oh by the way … FIRST PAGE!!! FIRST PAGE!!! FIRST PAGE!!!

This sucks. Malfunctions galore.

No multiformat burner… lame lame lame.

Yea me!!!

It can copy VHS tapes tp DVD and vice versa. However: if the VHS is copywrite protected, you will not be able to burn it to DVD.

does it bluetooth?

how about a bushel of cashews?
