Kindle Voyage 6" 4GB Wi-Fi E-Reader

Kindle Voyage 6" 4GB Wi-Fi E-Reader

I have an Amazon refurbished voyage and I really like it. The lighting is even and the weight is a lot lighter than the 7th gen paperwhite. Having said that, it looks like Amazon has phased out the voyage and the new paperwhite is taking its place. The new paperwhite is approximately the same weight as the voyage, is waterproof and has twice the memory. With the holidays coming up I also expect some decent deals on the new paperwhite around black friday or cyber monday. If I were in the market for a new kindle I think I would wait.

Actually, the version linked to on Amazon is an upgraded version from the one listed here, on Woot. It would appear the linked version allows audible books to be played over Bluetooth connected speakers.

You’re confused. The Voyage is not currently available on Amazon’s site

How is this that different from the Manga version I got here a few months back? Don’t care about the audio part.

The one you linked is the standard Kindle without a light for the screen. The Voyage has an adaptive light so we are not looking at an apples-to-apples comparison here. I have a 6th Gen Kindle Paperwhite and the light is necessary for me, but today’s deal on Woot isn’t better enough to get me to pull the trigger.

Can you listen to audio books on this

This will not play audiobooks. The newer basic kindle and paperwhite can do that.

This is a very thin and light ereader that has built-in page turn areas on the left and right bezel, something Amazon does not offer on any other reader. The voyage is indeed discontinued - you might be able to get a refurbished one from their site for awhile, but this is probably close to your last chance, especially at this price - I paid $200 for mine. I love it, and am buying one here as a backup in case disaster strikes.

Good deal on the best Kindle they don’t actually make/sell anymore. If only the new Paperwhite had the page-turn “buttons” it might be better, but if you don’t care about it being waterproof, the Voyage is the way to go
