Kyocera Ceramic Knives

I’ve got a couple of these. They’re awesome! But you have to be careful not to chip the blade as the ceramic is very brittle. You can send them back to Kyocera and get them sharpened for $10 IIRC. (Yes, IRC http://kyoceraadvancedceramics.com/lifetime-sharpening/)

Beware lefties!
Peeler in set is single blade for righties only.

If you’re a mechanically minded problem solver (common lefty asset!) and think “No problemo, I’ll just flip the paring blade around from end to end”, you can’t!

Amazon reviewer tried, but says pivot holes are different sizes.
Other than that, great reviews.

Sigh (lefty)

Have you ever tried this? Got the paring knife locally for my mom for Christmas because she loved the one my grandma had at Thanksgiving and was curious about the lifetime sharpening. At $10 I wonder if they even sharpen it or if they just send back a new one?

I’ve got a set of kyocera knives. They are sharp, so be extra careful with them. These cut through food much better than any other knife I own. I hand wash mine and put it in a special knife drawer. It also came with a lifetime fee sharpening, which I have not used yet.
