These are awesome
They don’t glitch if you update everything.
With latest windows updates and drivers and using MPC-HC
They actually play x265 1080p files smoothly
my $1500 4th gen i7 4720hq w/ 2gb video HP laptop can’t even do that.
Been watching these closely as they have come up for sale regularily this past year. I always balked because I was concerned the cpu’s were underpowered. I bought a similar sized amd powered Thinkpad (x120e) a few years back based upon specs (which seemed adequate) but was sorely disappointed with the performance.
I wound up ordering the 3rd gen non yoga version of the 11e from woot yesterday (arrives Monday) because it comes with a legit i3 cpu (6100u). The trade off is that model doesn’t have an ips touchscreen nor is it a convertible. It also cost 80 bucks more (does come with a slightly larger ssd though).
I’m torn whether I made the right decision, I guess time will tell.
Still following the sales of these yoga versions though as I may pick one up for my son who’ll appreciate the flip ability the yoga more.
I have to say, the comments on these discussions have been very helpful in deciding on getting an 11e.
I can’t believe that an $800 retail computer still comes with a crappy 1366x768 display.
Seriously, did the LCD manufacturers make 20 billion too many of those crappy panels or what?
They should have gone the way of the 3.5" floppy disk by now, but they’re popping up everywhere like cockroaches. If a 5-inch phone can have 1280x720 and retail for $200 there’s no damn reason an 11" notebook can’t have 1080p HD.
Came here from the daily email to see if a laptop was really being marketed with a Windows 8 screen displayed on it. It’s true. But thankfully the laptop that is deleivered will be Windows 10. And Win 10 Pro at that.
I’m no flat panel manufacturing expert but I’d guess the yield (defect-free) rate on tiny 5 inch screens might be a bit better than on 11/13/14 inch screens. And this is an older model.
Using one to write this message. They are solid - speedy enough for non-gaming type of stuff - convertible into tablet - nice (non backlit) keyboard. Really overperform for the price.
Got mine the other day and very disappointed as the touch screen doesn’t work. Computer works fine otherwise. Waiting to hear back from Woot support so I can get a replacement. Glad to see they have some available.
Has anyone figured out how to DISABLE THE TOUCHPAD? Lenovo doesn’t seem to know either, and they keep sending me in circles to different departments and people. Thanks in advance!
