Let's beat a dead horse: Shirt Quality

FYI

This is an unworn shirt after 1 wash. My little one was heartbroken.

I’ll reach out to customer service.

I wish I had pictures but sadly I already threw them out. I actually had 2 new shirts that didn’t survive more than 3 washes. One was the Hiking Oregon Trail one which first off was wrongly sized (smaller than the other shirt that shipped with it) and refunded, 2nd off after washing a couple times the lettering in the quote starting peeling off. Also my Among Us moon landing shirt looked liked Swiss cheese after a few washes. These were all fitted shirts if it matters. I now only buy shirts from woot if they are heavily discounted. I will start reaching out to customer service in the future however for peeling issues.

Definitely let CS know about the issue. The shirts I’ve bought in the last few months haven’t had the peeling issues. There’s going to be a huge shirt sale. I put the link below.

I’ve always paid less than full price for shirts; but since I’ve bought the past 5 or 6, I have noticed the quality is very poor. It’s peeling after 5 to 6 washes; the wife turns them inside out to prevent damage; not that it does much. I frankly don’t want to pay 10 bucks for a shirt that I truly love, supports an artist, and makes me feel cool if it can’t handle being washed. That’s absurd not matter WHAT the price is. I don’t like wearing them now because I have to choose between treasuries them or having them be washed away into oblivion. I can attach pictures…but it makes me sad looking at them. Let me stress; this change is fairly recent and VERY MUCH unwanted and unappreciated. Woot likely didn’t have much choice (price ect.), but I’d rather pay more if the quality was better. Incredibly disappointed :frowning:

I’m really displeased to find out that the peeling print isn’t a one off mistake. It’s a common mistake.

All I can do is stop giving them my money.

Apparently this is not a manufacturing problem, but a culture problem within the company.

I bet you qll laugh at and call us, your customers, names… while they knowingly send out low quality t-shirts.

If you have a shirt that peeled please contact customer service for a replacement.

I’m sure that, as a long time woot customer, you know that their wonderful customer service department, while not instantaneous, can take care of you and refund or replace any defective items.

Too bad I found this way after the fact. 90 days warranty on poor quality manufacturing? Give me a break. I have a shirt from 2017 that started peeling right away, and almost every shirt I bought last year. Most were replacements for old shirts. All garbage.

I wish I had seen this thread (and others) before buying my latest bunch of shirts.

I bought a replacement for “It came out of nowhere” as my 12 year old version of it had more holes in it than it had shirt left. The print was still in top nick though.
New one arrives, the printing is horrible - over-saturated, and lacking details that were in the original. But it hasn’t started deteriorating yet.
The same can’t be said for some of the others that are fading and losing black after only a few washes.

I bought some for my 3 year old son, and some had reasonable sized prints on them but one had an absolutely tiny print on it.

I have not really bought a t-shirt from anywhere but this site in 12 years but I might need to start looking elsewhere, which is a real shame :frowning:

Make sure you let Customer Service know. They were investigating.

Meh’s t-shirt site still has good shirts. I still buy a few from here just to see if it’s improved when they’re on sale.

I wish I’d seen this post before purchasing a shirt. I just bought mine in January, and it’s visibly faded, and I can scratch the print off by barely running my fingernail across it. At this rate, it won’t last more than a few months.

My first and last woot shirt purchase.

As noted in previous posts, contact Support.

I did that, of course. No response.

I’m sorry about that. Let me check in with CS.

Update: They’re working towards your contact. Just give them a bit more time.

It does seem to be an issue, though I bought a few of them recently for the fam, and they seem to be doing better than mine all did. So maybe it got ironed out? I don’t know. I hope so.

Thanks Pepper114, I have now done so

What gooey screen print that barely touches the threads of the shirt is Woot using?
The shirts are funny, so I’m a sucker and keep buying them. But I have not had one last more than maybe 5 wears.

Yeah, I threw one away that started to peel on 1st wash, design completely gone after 3 washings! Like it never even adhered at the start. Can’t really complain, it was in a BOC.

The last ones I bought are peeling but not as bad - it appears more like fading rather than being made improperly, like they have been “lightly sanded”. Still trying again as four more shirts are on the way.

Wow. After reading all this I kinda want to buy a shirt to see if they are really that bad.
