Leviton Dimmers: Dim Some

Having just learned more about dimmers and why my bulbs keep blowing out, I would like to point out that these (at least the 600 watt models) are for incandescent bulbs - not CFLs or LEDs!

Bought these (4 of them) back in December. One thing that was never described and is not in the description this time is that the low-voltage ones have about 2 second delay when turned on. I was trying to return them back to Woot, but looks like customer service is just plain horrible. It took them 2 week to respond to my e-mail with pointless comments. Sent an response to them at least a week ago, so far nothing. Woot has degraded to the worst place to make purchases from and deal with. Never again at least until they fix this!!!

CFL’s NO, but do work with LED’s; however the low watt model may provide a smoother dimming range for LED’s.

Pretty dissappointed in this sale. I would buy the low watt one for a fixture with LEDs. But you can buy a similar one from Home Depot for About the same price 18 vs. 15 after shipping. Only way this makes sense it to buy several, but I don’t need that many dimmers :frowning:

This, not to be that guy, but I was going to say technically it is one of FIVE preset levels (0%). If you can need to imagine me pushing up my glasses and adjusting my pocket protector when I say it, that is fine :).

My house is full of these dimmers. I’m trying to decide the timing of when I replace them all to allow me to use CFL or LED bulbs, but since many of them are the more expensive varieties - 2 way or remote control, that are $40-50 each, I don’t want to spend a lot to change them in rooms that are rarely used.
