I bought this last time it was listed. Really nice, but this three-set of candles DO NOT take D batteries. (as listed). They take AA. My brother-in-law gets (slightly used) D batteries from equipment back-up from his job, so I was slightly disappointed when I saw the horde of D batteries I had would not work.

Do you have any candles that can recharge iPhone? Kinda like a solar panel charger, only smaller? I’d like to use melted candle wax to stick a candle to my depleted iPhone’s screen when the flashlight function isn’t working, to light the room and simultaneously have it charge up my iPhone. The melted wax should make the electrical connection (or perhaps charge via Apple Watch Magnetic Ultra Fast charging). Extra points if I can glue a hundred of them onto the bonnet of my Tesla and make it go 200 miles an hour … without blowing out the candles.

I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving, TT!

Color option says “Antique Gold” but the photo caption says “Unique Gold”.

Most people probably don’t care, but I’m one of those guys who’ll point out that “unique” means “one of a kind” not “special.” Things are not “very unique.” They either are unique or not unique. Also, “antique” generally means 100+ years old. (Depends somewhat on what you’re talking about.) Also, also, neither looks “gold” to me.

Anyway, in for one of these not antique, not unique, not gold, not actually a lantern thingies because I’m going to do a whole Christmas/Scrooge visited by ghosts in the night thing, and I don’t want to burn the house down… Safety first. Vocabulary second.

What is the size of the base? Looks to be square, with interior part at least slightly recessed? I ask because we have a large south facing deck, on which these “lanterns” might make quite-striking post lamps.

I bought this the last time they sold it, a month or so ago. The smallest candle has already stopped working properly. It turns on and off by itself, even if I just set them to “on” rather than using the timer. So, I’m going to have to look for a replacement candle, but I’m still thinking to buy another lantern as a gift because they really are quite lovely.

Aren’t they covered by a 90 day warranty? Maybe you could get a replacement

got mine. it’s a really nice lantern. turned off the ‘flames’ look kinda hokey but once it’s lit up it looks pretty good from a few feet away. everyone that has seen it has been impressed and wanted to know where i got it. if they come up again i’ll get some as gifts. got the ‘bronze’ model and it looks good.

Two of my candles have quit working in the 60 days since I purchased! The lantern gets a positive rating but be prepared to buy your own flameless candles.

Sorry about the candles. Remember that you have a 90-day woot warranty:
